Microsoft integrates Hyper-V manager into a personal Windows 8 system, which can be said to be a major improvement. This improvement also illustrates the importance of virtualization and cloud computing in the IT industry. The use of Hyper-V can be directly created in the PC Hyper-V, the specific method has been shared with you before, next, look at some of Hyper-V some basic operations and applications.
A. Connecting to virtual machines and powering up
Double-click the virtual machine you want to start in Hyper-V Manager or right-click on the virtual machine you are starting to do the connection to the virtual machine.
If the virtual machine is running directly into the virtual machine interface, if the virtual machine has not yet run visible to the following screen:
Computer knowledge
You can start a virtual machine by starting it under the Action menu or by using the power button in the toolbar, such as a virtual machine prompt.
You can see the "Starting virtual machine" prompt after startup.
Wait a moment to enter the system.
B. Disconnecting and shutting down a virtual machine
Shutting down the Virtual Machine Connection window will disconnect the virtual machine, but the virtual machine continues to run with system resources, displaying the virtual machine "running" in Hyper-V Manager, and double-clicking the virtual machine to connect to the interface before the virtual machine shuts down.
There are many ways to turn off a virtual machine by shutting it down in a normal shutdown mode:
Or click on the power button in the toolbar:
You can also select Close under the Action menu:
or right-click Close on the virtual machine directly in Hyper-V Manager:
All non-system shutdown mode will be given a prompt when the shutdown, click "Off" to confirm the shutdown system, click "Do not close" cancel the shutdown process. If you check "Don't ask me Again", the confirmation process will not occur again.
In addition to the normal shutdown, the "save" in the above position is similar to the "Hibernate" function in the physical machine, and "forced shutdown" is a direct cut off the power, you can quickly implement shutdown, but also faced with the file will be lost for the saved.
C. Mouse control and Full-screen mode
By default, when the mouse is pinned to the virtual machine's internal desktop, the mouse can be released by CTRL + Alt + LEFT (the arrow with the cursor).
The shortcut can be changed in the Hyper-V setting. Under actions on the right side of the Hyper-V Manager main interface, select Hyper-V settings.
Selecting the Mouse release button under Users in the pop-up dialog box allows you to select the available shortcut keys in the right window.
If you feel it is not convenient to operate in windowed mode, you can choose Full Screen mode (Ctrl + Alt + Pause) under View menu.
After entering Full-screen mode, you can return to window mode by restoring the window button above the link bar.
D. Snapshots and restores
The so-called "snapshot", can be simply understood as the usual "restore point." After you set the snapshot, you can revert to the point-in-time of the snapshot as needed, and the changes made to the virtual machine after the snapshot will not be preserved.
For example, you need to test whether a software is compatible, or whether the downloaded software contains a virus, you can test after the snapshot is created, if there is a problem can be restored through the snapshot.
When you create a snapshot, you can do so by using the "snapshot" (Ctrl + N) under the Action menu.
When you click "Snapshot", you will be prompted whether to modify the default name. Click "No" to save the snapshot using the default name, and if you want to rename the snapshot, enter the name of the snapshot and click "Yes". If you check "always use the default name", the dialog box will not pop up again, and the default name is saved directly. (Default name format: Virtual machine name-current date, time)
In the Hyper-V manager, under the "snapshot" category, the saved snapshots are sorted in chronological order. As shown in the following illustration, the third behavior is saved with the default name, and line fourth is renamed to the saved snapshot.
After you select the corresponding snapshot, you can see the classification under snapshot named after the snapshot, where you can view the preview, save time, memory information, and network information of the virtual machine when you save the snapshot.
Right-click on the snapshot name to rename and delete the snapshot. Delete snapshot indicates that only the selected snapshot is deleted; Deleting a snapshot subtree indicates that all snapshots after the selected snapshot and its point-in-time are deleted.
The following illustration shows the result of deleting a snapshot subtree on the default naming method (Hyper-V Windows 8–2012/12/18–22:13:31):
If you need to restore a saved snapshot, you can select Restore under the Action menu in the linked virtual machine.
After you confirm the restore, you can restore the virtual machine to the snapshot state of the most recent point in time.
The linked virtual opportunity sees the prompt that is being restored. Wait a moment to see the virtual machine's screen back to the snapshot point in time.
In addition, you can right-click the snapshot in Hyper-V Manager to select Apply to restore to the specified snapshot Point-in-time by right-clicking on the specified snapshot.
When you confirm the application, selecting get snapshot and apply will save the snapshot for the current virtual machine state as a default name and restore the virtual machine to the state of the selected Point-in-time snapshot, and if you select Apply, restore only the virtual machine without generating a snapshot.
The following illustration selects the snapshot that is generated after the snapshot is "get snapshot and apply".
In addition, you can select set to view the virtual machine properties of the snapshot point when you right-click on the snapshot.
E Screen Capture
In a linked virtual runtime, you can take a screenshot of the current virtual machine display from the capture screen (Ctrl + C) under the Clipboard menu.
The significance of this is that some of the host can not be screenshots of the screen to intercept, such as:
Boot Screen--
Lock Screen Screen--
Shutdown Screen--
The captured screen will be saved in the Clipboard, if you need to save, you can open the drawing tools to paste and then save.
