IBM F11 One-click Recovery function Instructions _ Application Tips

For computer users, the most vexing problem is reloading the system after the system crashes. Although there are a variety of system recovery tools, such as brand-name machine with the system recovery disk, and so on, but there is a disadvantage, the need to boot disk startup. The blue giant IBM's F11 function is good, does not need the boot disk. System crashes Press F11 automatically restores, unfortunately for this F11 call me to wait for the poor to buy IBM a bit unrealistic, can't we have the way?

IBM F11 One-key recovery principle:
IBM F11 System Recovery works by having 2 primary partitions on one hard drive, and the backup recovery partition is hidden by default. When a crash is restored by F11, the hidden backup recovery partition is automatically set to a visible active partition, and a system recovery is performed after the computer is started. However, there is a flaw in this system, first only IBM users can enjoy, second, slow recovery.
Next I will use IBM's system Recovery tools to create a F11 a key recovery system process introduced to you, if there are deficiencies please criticize correct.

Preparation phase:

Need tool Software: D2dfdzip.exe (IBM's F11 System Recovery Tool, available at IBM's official website)

GHOST 7.0 (8.0)

First, the use of ghost software to do the system image files
The author here is not much, because this file for the future system recovery, so I suggest the best is to reinstall the operating system, installed the necessary application software, free of the future after each restore to reinstall.

Second, the establishment of partitions:
Run PQ8.0 under Windows and create partitions.
1. Adjust the size of primary partition C in PQ, and then empty out 2G space for backup partition.
2. Right-create-eject the partition menu in the remaining space of the primary partition, select Create primary partition format as FAT32, and volume label as Ibm_service.
3. Then point application, after the system reboot, the volume label is Ibm_server, the size of 2G FAT32 backup partition is created. But when we started, we found out that we didn't show up. Because there are now two primary partitions on the hard disk, the new partition is hidden. Let's go back to PQ and right-click on the new partition-the advanced-presentation partition.
After the reboot we can see our new backup partition.
Note: The newly established backup partition must be behind the primary partition C, and if built on the front of the primary partition or on the extended partition, it will cause the F11 function to be unusable. The sub-regional format must be FAT32, otherwise the Ghost software will not function under DOS. The volume label must be Ibm_service or IBM's F11 recovery software will not work.
Third, the backup partition's settings

1. Make backup partition have startup function. Because when the system crashes, to use the backup partition to start the computer, you must have a DOS basic boot file in the root directory of the backup partition. You can make a startup disk under 98 system, or in a second way, now the D CD has a startup function, use the CD to start the computer, the automatic default letter is a:, copy all the files in a disk to the backup partition on the hard disk. (Dos three basic boot files Command.com MS-DOS.) SYS IO. SYS)
2. Copy Ghost Software and the first step completes the ghost image file to the backup partition root directory.
3. Create Config.sys files with Notepad
Device = C:\himen.sys
Save As Config.sys
4. Create an automatic batch file Autoexec.bat
Ghost.exe-clone,mode=pload,src=chttp://article.pchome.net/00/19/93/41/:\winxp.gh1,dst=1:1-SURE–RB
Note: Do not modify the mirrored file path here: C:\winxp.gho, the first time I changed the path to I, the results can not be performed. The reason is that when the backup partition is activated, the original system partition is hidden and the backup partition is a C disk.
Dst=1:1 is the first partition that restores files to the first hard disk.
Four, F11 function installs
1. d2dfdzip files downloaded from IBM's official website are extracted to the C-packing directory, and the Autoexec.bat files are modified.
a:\bmgr.exe/fboot.bin/mbmgr%cc%.scr/s
a:\bmgr.exe/fboot.bin/mbmgr%cc%.scr/s
The path of the two lines is set to C: Because our notes do not have the floppy drive directly in the C disk.
2. Copy DOS Partition software FDISK.EXE to c packing directory, because the F11 function needs to write hard drive boot record. In the launch pad just made.
3. Start the computer with the boot disk to DOS, convert the letter to C:, input Autoexec.bat
Display a copy of a file and press Ctrl+alt+del to restart the computer
After the reboot is not found that our F11 function has appeared, our backup partition is also automatically hidden.

Summarize:
At this point, our F11 one-key recovery system is complete. If there is a system crash in the future, as long as the restart of the click F11, it automatically recovered.
