IBM F11 one-click recovery function instructions

For computer users, the biggest headache is to reinstall the system after the system crashes. Although there are various types of system recovery tools, such as the System Recovery disks of brand machines, there is a drawback that the boot disk needs to be started. The F11 function of the blue giant IBM is good, and there is no need to start the disk. The system crash is automatically restored after F11 is pressed. Unfortunately, it is unrealistic for the F11 to ask me to wait for the poor to buy IBM. Can't we do it?

IBM F11 one-click recovery principle:
How the IBM F11 system recovers. It has two primary partitions on a hard disk, and the Backup Recovery partition is hidden by default. When the system crashes and is restored by F11, the hidden backup and recovery partitions are automatically set to visible active partitions. After the computer is started, the system is restored. However, this system has a defect that can only be enjoyed by IBM users first, and slow recovery.
Next, I will introduce the process of using IBM's system recovery tool to build the F11 one-click recovery system. If you have any shortcomings, please criticize and correct them.

Preparation phase:

Tools Required: d2dfdzip.exe (IBM F11 system recovery tool, which can be downloaded from the IBM official website)
GHOST 7.0 (8.0)
1. Use the GHOST Software to prepare system image files
I will not mention it here, because this file is used for system recovery in the future, so I suggest it is best to reinstall the operating system, install the necessary application software, and then re-install each recovery.

2. Create a partition:
Run PQ8.0 in WINDOWS to create a partition.
1. Adjust the size of primary partition C in PQ, and then leave 2 GB space for backup partition.
2. Right-click the remaining space in the primary partition and choose create> create partition from the shortcut menu. Select create as the primary partition in the format of FAT32 and the volume is IBM_SERVICE.
3. Click the application. After the system restarts, the volume is marked as IBM_SERVER, And the FAT32 backup partition of 2 GB is created. However, after the disk is started, the I disk does not appear. Why? Because there are two primary partitions on the hard disk, the new partition is hidden. Go to PQ and right-click the new partition and choose advanced to display the partition.
After restarting, we can see the new backup partition.
Note: The newly created backup partition must be behind primary partition C. If it is created before the primary partition or on the extended partition, The F11 function is unavailable. The format of the partition must be FAT32. Otherwise, the GHOST Software in DOS cannot run normally. The volume label must be IBM_SERVICE, otherwise the IBM F11 recovery software will not work.
Iii. backup partition settings

1. Enable the backup partition. When the system crashes, you need to use the backup partition to start the computer. Therefore, you must have a basic DOS Startup file in the root directory of the backup partition. You can create A boot disk in the 98 system, or use the second method. The current dashboard has the boot function. The automatic default drive letter is :, copy all files in disk A to the backup partition on the hard disk. (DOS three basic startup files COMMAND. COM MS-DOS.SYS IO. SYS)
2. Copy the GHOST Software and the GHOST image file prepared in step 1 to the root directory of the backup partition.
3. Use notepad to create the Config. sys file
Device = c: \ himen. sys
Save as config. sys
4. Create an automatic batch processing file AUTOEXEC. BAT
Ghost.exe-clone, mode = pload, src = chttp: // article.pchome.net/00/19/93/41/:\winxp.gh1,dst=1:1-sure-rb
Note: do not modify the path of the image file here: C: \ winxp. gho. When I change the path to I for the first time, the result cannot be executed. The reason is that when the backup partition is activated and started, the original system partition is hidden and the backup partition is a drive C.
Dst = is the first partition to restore the file to the first hard disk.
Iv. F11 function Installation
1. decompress the d2dfdzip file downloaded from the IBM website to the C root directory and modify the AUTOEXEC. BAT file.
A: \ bmgr.exe/Fboot. bin/Mbmgr % CC %. scr/s
A: \ bmgr.exe/Fboot. bin/Mbmgr % CC %. scr/s
Set the path of the two rows from a: To c:, because we directly execute the note on drive c without a soft drive.
2. Copy the DOS partition software FDISK. EXE to the C-drive root directory, because the F11 function requires hard disk boot records. In the boot disk just created.
3. Start the computer to DOS with the boot disk, convert the drive letter to C:, and enter autoexec. bat
Display a copy of the file, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart the computer
After restarting, did you find that our F11 feature has already appeared and our backup partitions are automatically hidden.

Summary:
So far, our F11 one-click recovery system has been built. In the future, if a system crash occurs, you only need to press F11 upon restart, and the system will be automatically restored.
