Configuration Overview:
When you use serverguide to set and install CD, you do not need to install a floppy disk. You can use CD to configure any supported IBM server models. The installer provides a list of tasks required to install the server model. On a server with a serveraid adapter or an integrated SCSI controller with raid capabilities, you can run the scsiraid configuration program to create a logical drive.

Note: the features and functions of the serverguide program may vary slightly with the version. To learn more about your current version, start serverguide to set up and install CD and view the online overview. Not all server models support all features. The serverguide program requires a supported IBM server with an enabled, bootable CD-ROM drive. In addition to setting and installing the CD, you must prepare the operating system CD to install the operating system.

When you start serverguide to set and install CD, this program prompts you to complete the following tasks:
Select a language.
Select the keyboard layout and country or region.
View the overview to learn about the serverguide feature.
View the README file to learn how to install your operating system and adapter.
Start to install the operating system. You will need the operating system CD.
The following uses the serverguide boot and installation CD to install the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 enterprise operating system as an example:

1.Start the server with serverguide CD. The following figure is displayed:

Select the language of the boot disk (note: the language is the serverguide boot language, which is irrelevant to the operating system to be installed). The following screen is displayed. Select "English"

2.Select the keyboard layout and the country or region screen, select "United States" here, and then click "Next ":

3.The license agreement page appears. Read the license agreement content and click "I accept" to continue:

4.View the overview to learn more about the serverguide function. Please carefully check the instructions before use and click "Next" to continue:

5.Here you can select the operating system you want to install and click "Next ":

6.The list shows the configurations to be configured. Currently, you are prompted to set the date and time. Click "Next ":

7.After setting the correct date and time, click "Next ":

8.When the clear hard disk information interface appears, select to skip or clear as needed and click "Next" (Note: If you need to retain the existing array information, select "skip this task", but the data and partition on the hard disk will still be cleared );

9."Next" Create an operating system partition

The system prompts that all partitions of the drive disk to be started will be deleted.

Click "Next" to continue

10.Enter the following interface to select the partition and file system types. Note that the partition size should not be less than 3G: (the input value is the capacity of the system partition, that is, the capacity of the C disk; the remaining space is displayed in the unclassified status in system disk management)

11.After partition formatting is completed, the server guide program restarts and prompts the operating system partition task to be completed:

12.Check whether the server configuration is correct, and then click "Next ":

13.Configure win2003 installation as follows:

Enter the user name, computer name, and serial number on the following interface. Note that you need to enter "Product ID *".
Serial number of the win2003 operating system CD: (Note: required items with the * number );

14.Select the network settings of the server:

15.Select the network card settings. you can install the default network card type first. After the operating system is installed, you can change the settings:

16.Select the number of licenses for the win2003 system:

17.Go to the operating system language and country settings page, and select
"(GMT + 08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi"

Select "Chinese (PRC)" for the main language item )";

Select "simplified Chinese" for the second language item

(Note: If the installed win2003 is a Simplified Chinese version, you must follow the above options to change it; otherwise, garbled characters will appear after the system is installed );
18.On the following page, select the Windows component you want to install and click "Next:

19.Serverguide will display the relevant installation path for Windows. Click "Next" after checking the correct installation path ":

20.For Windows, copy the files required for installation:

21.After data copy is complete, the following message is displayed. The serverguide disc will automatically pop up. You need to change the Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition disc and click "Next" to confirm:

22.Insert the win2003 disc and press enter to confirm. After carefully reading the Microsoft End User License user manual, select "I agree" (Note: Garbled characters may be displayed here, but after the system is installed, no garbled characters will appear)

23.Start to copy the Windows2003 installation file:

24.Remove the Windows 2003 CD as required, restart the server, and click "Next" to confirm that the server will go to the unattended installation. The serverguide CD configuration has been completed since then.

All drivers of Windows 2003 operating systems installed using this method are installed.
