About IBM t60 system installation About System Installation I have been using a recovery disk for t60 system recovery. However, there are too many built-in software. The key is that most of them are very junk. Therefore, it is especially necessary to install a fresh system. Because t60 uses a SATA hard disk without a soft drive, we cannot easily install the SATA driver on a floppy disk and then install the system normally. However, there is no path to success, and many articles have long told us how to do it. Software preparation: 1. Windows XP SP2 installation disc 2. ThinkPad Intel (r) matrix Storage Manager Driver (download: http://www-900.ibm.com/cn/suppor... 6n5c5p/79im05ww.exe) 3. Complete t60 driver (Download list: http://www-900.ibm.com/cn/suppor... ix? Categoryid = 20116) For t60 users, please note the following points during installation: 1. Try to use the vlk version of the system to install it. After installation, the activation process is saved. If you have a genuine system or Windows XP of the ibm oem version circulating on the Internet, that would be nice. However, I have not tried this version on t60 and do not know whether it is feasible or not. 2. Start the system, Press F1 to enter BIOS settings, select Config with the direction key, select Serial ATA (SATA) after installation, press enter, and select compatibility, press F10. save and exit. (Do not forget to set the boot sequence to drive first) 3. Now Windows XP can be installed normally. When partitioning, You can see hidden partitions, which are better preserved. I set disk C to 20 GB to prepare for future vista. ThinkPad prompts that the hard disk partition cannot exceed three. Otherwise, the disk cannot be used after one-click recovery. Some users have proved it. 4. After installation, go to the system and open the downloaded matrix Storage Manager driver. It will be decompressed to the C:/Drivers/win/imsm directory. Open C: /Drivers/win/imsm/prepare/install. CMD to copy some files to the system. Restart the system. 5. Press F1 to enter BIOS settings, select Config with the direction key, select Serial ATA (SATA) after entering, press enter, select ahci, press F10, and save and exit. 6. After the system is started, there will be new hardware discoveries. This is the SATA controller. Ignore the automatic installation of the system. You need to locate the drive directory in C: /Drivers/win/imsm, the system will automatically collect the required files. After a while, the SATA controller will be installed with the driver, and the t60 SATA hard drive will start to work normally. 7. One of the drivers downloaded from the official address provided above is the ThinkPad software installer software. We recommend that you first install the software and decompress all the other drivers to the default directory, run the ThinkPad software installer software, which automatically detects which drivers need to be installed and is automatically installed. In this way, you don't have to worry about the names of the drivers that you are confused about. 8. Finally, we recommend that you use ghost8.0 for system backup. Therefore, for future convenience, we recommend that you have a partition named FAT32, where you can place the ghost program, start with a Windows 98optical disk (ntfsenabled is not supported by the dig command). Then run the ghost.exe program and follow the general steps to restore it. Do not restore the image file to a hidden partition. Addendum: 1, Since t60 uses the HD Audio Sound card, it seems that the sound quality can be improved (it seems that the two speakers are actually the same ). However, during the installation process, there will always be an error: "HD Audio bus driver is required, but not found". Here we need a Windows system patch kb888111. Before installing the audio card driver, install the appropriate patch (2000, XP SP1, XP SP2, 2003 are different), and then the system will tell you to find the new hardware. The Modem driver can also be installed here, it seems that it also requires the bus driver of HD Audio to be installed. 2. Install Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 before the video card driver is installed. Otherwise, the installation of the video card driver is abnormal. It seems to have been installed, but an error will be reported after the restart: 2.16.cli.exe application error ". If you cancel its startup in msconfig, the problem can only be resolved from the surface. The key is to install Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 and then install the graphics card driver. |
