IDE interface hard Disk installation method

The first step to check the motherboard instructions or to the site to see, verify that the motherboard BIOS support large hard drive, put on rubber gloves, or touch the wall with your hands, the body of static electricity off.

The second step is to open the hard drive box, identify the hard drive data cable and the IDE interface on the motherboard. There are typically two IDE interfaces on the motherboard, labeled "IDE1", "IDE2", and labeled "IDEO" and "IDE1" next to the interface. "IDE1" takes precedence Over "IDE2", therefore, the hard disk is generally connected to the "IDE1", the CD-ROM and so on "IDE2". Now the motherboard hard disk is SATA interface, there are SATA1, SATA2 hard disk connected to the SATA1 interface. The hard drive, optical drive, floppy drive, and other devices must be installed in the chassis and the hard drive is installed in a 3.5-inch slot in the middle position.

The third step is to fix the hard drive. You can install only one hard drive without setting the jumper. When you put the hard disk in the slot, note that the fingers as far as possible do not touch the bottom of the hard disk circuit board, alignment slot gently push, to the hard disk on the screw hole on the chassis and the hole to the right. On both sides of the hard drive have two screws, the upper screw on the depth to be balanced, do not first twist the side and then twist the other side.

Fourth step: Find "IDE1" on the motherboard, locate the IDE cable from the motherboard box, select the port labeled "System" (the one at the farthest end of the connector) and connect to the IDE connector on the motherboard, and select the other end labeled "Master" to connect to the hard drive. The hard drive data cable uses the anti-plug design, as long as the alignment gap is not inserted in the reverse.

Step Fifth: Connect the power cord. Casually from the chassis power output plug to find an idle senior core plug into the hard drive power connector.
