As a recently released browser, the ease of use of the IE8 browser is indeed greatly improved. But after nearly a period of time to use the vast number of users, found a lot of failures, the following we have for these major IE8 browser use failure, to provide solutions to help everyone better surfing on the web.

First, the Web page display exception

When you use IE8 to open some Web sites in Windows XP, the page appears abnormal, such as picture dislocation, text deviation, etc. (Figure 1). This is mainly because IE8 adopted the International standard of web page development standards--W3C, and many of the previous sites are for the IE7 standard development optimization, therefore, incompatible with the new development standards-the site will appear problems. So, what can we do to solve this problem?

When we open the site that shows the problem, we will find a button on the left side of the address bar to see the Compatibility View, and click on this button to let the site show up in IE7 compatibility mode. Pressing this button will present a sunken shape. If you don't like to press this button frequently, click the "page → compatibility View settings" command to open the Compatibility View Settings window and check the "Show all sites in Compatibility View" option.

Second, the forum can not upload pictures

In Windows XP use IE8 Login forum post when there is no upload picture attachment failure, the system prompts "invalid picture file." This may be caused by IE8 security settings and some incompatibility with the forums. There is also a possible IE8 directly save the image is not an extension, it will cause the image format can not be recognized by the forum can not upload. When you save a Web page picture, notice that you manually assign the saved extensions to the pictures, such as JPG, GIF, and so on.

First of all, each forum may have a certain size, size, format limitations, such as: 800x640 pixels below, jpg and GIF format, the file is not more than 200KB. If the picture is satisfied with the above conditions can still not upload, then check IE8 security settings. We can click the "Tools →internet Options" command, in the Open Internet Options window, enter the Security tab, click the Custom Level button, and in the Open Security Settings window, set the "Include local directory path when uploading files to server" setting to Enabled (Figure 2), determine reboot IE8, this fault should be resolved.

Third, the Forum cannot save cookies

Cookies, also known as Cookie, can save some of the text user information for easy access to the forum, but the IE8 in Windows XP fails to save cookies. Every time you open a forum, you need to log on again, and then log on again after you log on, which brings trouble to the user. This is primarily a problem with the default cookie settings for IE8, which prohibits cookies.

We can click the "Tools →internet Options" command, click the "privacy" option in the Open Internet Options window, and then click the "Advanced" button in the "Privacy" tab of the Internet Options, and check the "Advanced Privacy Policy settings" window that pops up. Replace the automatic cookie processing check box, then set the following "First party cookie", "third party cookie" to "accept", and finally select "Always Allow Session cookie" (Figure 3) to determine the restart IE8 to resolve this failure.

Four, process shutdown delay

Using IE8 in Windows XP browsing the Web page in one window but discovering multiple Iexplore.exe processes in Task Manager, and closing the tab does not automatically close the process, causing the process to persist with system resource failures (Figure 4). This is not really a fault, but a new feature of IE8. IE8 designed a process for backing up iexplore.exe, and browsing the tab crash does not cause other tabs to crash and exit, but to continue browsing normally.

Computer knowledge

For users with system resource constraints, the release process can be automatically closed through registry settings. Click the "Start" menu, open the "Run" window, enter "REGEDIT", open the Registry Editor in turn Hkey_current_usersoftwaremicrosoftinternet Explorermain subkey, Right-click the subkey for the new DWORD value and set the key value to 0 to close the process immediately after closing the IE8 label and window.

Unable to open a link in a new tab

When you use IE8 to browse the Web page in Windows XP, you sometimes want to use the right-click menu "Open in New tab" to open a link and find that the right-click menu does not have the command.

This failure may be caused by user misoperation, one of the important reasons is that the user has disabled the tab browsing mode or the IE settings have been disturbed.

For the first case, we can click the "Tools-internet Options" command, click the "Settings" button next to "tabs" in the Open Internet Options window, and then check the "Launch tab browsing" option in the Open Tab Browsing Settings window to confirm that the restart IE is resolved ( As shown in Figure 5).

If this is the second case, go to the Internet Options window again, click the "Advanced" option, click the "Reset" button, and then click the "Reset" button to restore the settings by clicking the "Remove personalization" option in the "Reset Internet Explorer settings" window that pops up. Can generally solve this problem.

Six, unable to uninstall IE8

Once IE8 is installed in Windows XP, you will find that the uninstall option cannot be found either from the Start menu or from the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs, can you uninstall the IE8?

This is because the user does not have a clear IE8 uninstall path, we can enter the control Panel, open the "Add/Remove Programs" feature, check the "Show updates" option above, then IE8 will be updated in the form of display, click the "Delete" button to uninstall (see Figure 6).

Believe that the above several common failures, we will be more comfortable to use the IE8.
