While Microsoft has launched IE9, the most widely used browsers in the world are still IE8, and IE9 can only run on Windows 7 systems, with Windows XP users not experiencing it. IE9 compared to IE8, one of the designs is to combine the search with the address bar, no more columns to display. In fact, through Group Policy settings, IE8 Browser can also hide the search bar, just need a little skill and step.
How do I hide the IE8 search bar?
The first step: the shortcut key combination "Windows+r" starts the Run command character, enters "gpedit.msc" in the box that appears, and presses ENTER to start the System Group Policy Editor.
Step two: In the left window, expand Computer configuration → administrative Templates → Windows components → Internet Explorer
Step three: Double-click Internet Explorer and locate the "Prevent Internet Explorer search box" option in the right window.
Step Fourth: Double-click the option to set it to Enabled.
Click OK to exit and restart the IE8 browser. You will see that the search bar has been hidden.
