Application protection level for IIS:
A. Low (IIS Process): Web applications run in the Inetinfo.exe process with the highest performance, but with the greatest risk, when an application error occurs, the entire IIS server may be unavailable.
B. In (common): All applications at this level share a DLLHost.exe process, which has the lowest performance, but saves resources and application errors do not affect the IIS service.
C. High (independent): Each application at this level uses a dllhost.ext process, which has a high performance and a small risk, but consumes the most resources.
If you are developing a debug Web application, use a high (independent) protection level so that you do not need to restart IIS if an application fails. But for performance reasons, it is not recommended to run more than 10 standalone applications.
