The easiest way to trace artwork is to open or place a file into illustrator, and then use the Live Tracing command to trace the artwork. You can control the level of detail and how you fill out the tracing. When you are satisfied with the tracing results, you can convert the tracing to a vector path or a live paint object.
Automatically tracing paint with real-time tracing
Open or place the file as the source image of the tracing.
After you select the source image, do one of the following:
To use tracing presets to trace images, click the Tracing Presets and Options button in the Control Panel and select a preset.
To use the default tracing options to trace an image, click Live Tracing in the Control Panel, or select Object > Live tracing > Build.
To set tracing options before you trace the image, click the Tracing Presets and Options button in the Control Panel, and then select tracing Options. or select Object > Live tracing > Tracing options. Set tracing options, and then click Tracing.
Optionally, adjust the tracing results.
Optionally, convert the tracing to a path or a live paint object.
Tracing options

Presets, specifying tracing presets.
mode, specifying the color mode of the tracing result.
Threshold value, which specifies the value used to generate the black and white tracing results from the original image. All pixels that are brighter than the threshold are converted to white, and all pixels that are darker than the threshold value are converted to black. (This option is available only if mode is set to black and white.) )
Palette, specifying the palette that is used to generate color or grayscale tracing from the original image. (This option is available only if mode is set to color or grayscale.) To let Illustrator determine the color in the trace, select Automatic. To use the self-palette for tracing, select a Swatch library name. (The Swatch library must be open to appear in the Palette menu.) )
Maximum number of colors, setting the maximum number of colors to use in the color or grayscale tracing results. (This option is available only if the mode is set to color or grayscale and the panel is set to Automatic.) )
Output to a swatch, and in the swatches panel, create a new swatch for each color in the tracing result.
Blur the original image before generating the tracing result. Select this option to mitigate subtle unnatural feelings and smooth jagged edges in the tracing results.
Resample the original image to the specified resolution before resampling and generating the tracing results. This option is useful for speeding up the tracing process of large images, but will result in a downgrade effect.
Note: When you create a preset, the resample resolution is not stored.
Fills the color and creates a fill area in the tracing result.
Strokes, creating a stroke path in the tracing result.
Maximum stroke weight, specifying the maximum width of the feature that can be stroked in the original image. Features larger than the maximum width become contour areas in the tracing results.
Minimum stroke length, specifying the minimum length of the feature that can be stroked in the original image. Features less than the minimum length are ignored from the tracing results.
The path fits, controlling the difference between the tracing shape and the original pixel shape. A lower value creates a closer path to fit and a higher value creates a looser path to fit.
Minimum area, specifying the smallest feature in the original image to be traced. For example, a value of 4 that specifies a feature that is less than 2 x 2 pixels wide will be ignored from the tracing result.
Corner angle, which specifies the sharpness of the original image's transit angle, which is the corner anchor point in the tracing result. For more information about the difference between a corner anchor and a smooth anchor point, see About paths.
Grid, a bitmap component that specifies how to display the tracing object. This view setting is not stored as part of the tracing preset.
Vector, specifying how the tracing results are displayed. This view setting is not stored as part of the tracing preset.
Converts a tracing object to a live paint object
When you are satisfied with the tracing results, you can convert the tracing to a path or a live paint object. This final step allows you to work with the tracing like a vector map. After you convert the tracing object, you can no longer adjust the tracing options.
Select the tracing object. Do one of the following: To convert the tracing to a path, click Expand in the Control Panel, or select Object > Live tracing > extension. Use this method if you want to treat the component of the tracing artwork as a separate object. The resulting paths are grouped together.
To convert tracing to a path while retaining the current display options, select Object > Live tracing > Expand to view Results. For example, if the display option for tracing results is set to outline, the path to the extension will be outline only (not fills and strokes). In addition, a tracing snapshot with the current display option is retained and combined with the extended path. Use this method if you want to keep the tracing image as a guide to the extended path.
To convert the tracing to a live Paint object, click Live Paint in the control Panel, or select Object > Live tracing > Convert to Live Paint. Use this method if you want to apply fill and stroke to the tracing artwork using the live paint bucket tool.
OK, the above information is small make up to you illustrator of this software users of the detailed real-time tracing tool to analyze all the content of the share, you see the users here, small series believe that everyone first in is very clear it, Hope that the above tutorial can bring you useful help.
