Impact of regions on career development

Many friends hope to be able to go to a big city. No matter what Yang's job is, if he can stay in a big city, he will be the first choice. After stability, he can adjust his work slowly. This was the case when I graduated from college. In order to stay in Suzhou, I paid 4500 yuan in Cross-Industry fees. In order to stay in Suzhou, I first chose to work in Wujiang Taiwan capital enterprises and then return to Suzhou half a year later. It's quite easy to look at this method. However, there is no reason to think about the original psychological status, and it has paid a certain amount of time and money.

My hometown is located in Changzhou, but it is only a two-hour journey away from Suzhou and Shanghai, but the difference between regions is still great. At least in my concept, it was like this. During this time, I was working on a project in Finland. I studied the European concept of the region. It seems that they are biased towards large cities, and they are highly accepted for the flow of regions. Many people have little affection for Helsinki, and they often see worries about public security in big cities in newspapers. Probably because the Finnish industry is relatively concentrated in several cities, many people are used to moving their families from one city to another. But because the country is relatively small, how can we move in? It's just two or three hours in the car. But at least from their perspective, this relocation is not a major event, but it may also be because the differences between cities in Western Europe are not that great.

In China, the situation is complex, the cities in the East and West are quite different, and the economic development is quite different. However, in terms of career development, it may be better to save the nation rather than rush to big cities for luck. This year, many companies have frozen recruitment in both the Yangtze River Delta region and the Pearl River Delta region, which has the greatest impact on recent graduates. Even if an enterprise wants to recruit people, it is a great choice. In some of my current projects, many European enterprises are located in small areas around the provincial capitals such as Wuhan, Hefei, Chongqing, and Chengdu. For me, the biggest challenge is how to find and retain good talent in these regions.

Because it is difficult to find experienced senior managers, our consultants will inevitably assume the responsibility of temporary management, and use limited time to discover, train, and localize talents. In fact, starting a career in these small cities is now a good choice, because these multinational SMEs in China are usually in the central and western cities, their strategic goal is to select a low-cost manufacturing base, but put sales, sourcing, and platform management responsibilities in big cities. The career development I mentioned is more instructive for students and friends. We may wish to take advantage of these opportunities to receive training, qualifications, experience and capital from these small and medium-sized enterprises, and to apply for Internal Rotation for further career development in large cities under the conditions of maturity.

I did not advise you to do so, but to provide another option in the current economic environment. Instead of finding a job or finding an unsatisfactory job in a big city, I suggest you look at other central and western cities, especially Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Chengdu, and Xi'an. If we regard Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Dalian as the first professional regional chain, I regard Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Wuhan, and Chengdu as the second-class regional chain. There are also small cities affiliated with these second-class regional chains, such as xuchang, lu'an, Huangshi, Xiaogan, and Deyang. These cities are the regions that I have liked in European projects in recent years, their cost advantages have been revealed, and the current problem is talent reserves and talent retention. In order to achieve the above two points, many foreign-funded enterprises have developed relatively complete training and career development programs.

Fifteen years ago, Dongguan, Suzhou, and Ningbo were still in the early stages of industrial development. At the beginning, a group of people now are basically leaders of urban enterprises. If we look longer, it may also be possible to seize this opportunity during a period of time when the economic form slows down, and to achieve great career development.
