Install and run Webmin in Linux

Install and run Webmin in Linux-Linux Enterprise Application-Linux server application information. For details, refer to the following section. 1. Install Webmin:
Download the RPM package of Webmin and install it normally in Red Hat linux. if you cannot install webminin in the linuxboard of the rpmsoftware package, download the package in .tar.gz format. This article mainly refers to the installation of Webmin software in RPM format. Place the downloaded Webmin installation package in the appropriate directory of the Linux host and install it using the rpm command:

# RPMs webmin-1.350-1.noarch.rpm-ivh

After the preceding command is executed, when Webmin install complete. You can login to http://localhost.localdomin: 10000/appears, the installation is successful. Use the service command to query the current status of the webmin service

# Service webmin status

Run the preceding command. When webmin (pid 2733) is running is displayed on the screen, the webmin service in the table is automatically started after installation. Run the chkconfig command to query the startup status of the webmin service at each line of operation.

# Chkconfig -- list webmin

Run the preceding command to display the following on the screen:

Webmin 0: off 1: off 2: on 3: on 4: off 5: on 6: off

It indicates that webmin is in the "on" status at runtime Level 3 and 5, that is, it starts automatically.

2. Start Webmin:
The process of logging on to the Webmin management interface can be divided into two steps: Entering the Webmin server address and verifying the user identity.

1. Enter the Webmin server address
Webmin uses the Http protocol. Users only need to log on to the Webmin server using a Web browser to perform management. In the Mozilla address bar under Linux, enter: http://xx.xx.xx.xx: 10000

Xx. xx is the host address. The actual address is used as the standard. The port number is "10000", and the default port number is "10000" for the Webmin server"

2. Verify user identity
After the browser correctly connects to the Webmin server, the Webmin user authentication page appears. Enter the Webmin user name and password and click "Login" to log on. When logging on to Webmin for the first time, you must use the "root" account and "root" User Password in Linux to log on. For security reasons, the administrator should change the password immediately after logon.
