Install centos 6.5 on a hard drive in win7

Source: Internet
Author: User

I. software required during installation

1. Hard Disk partitioning software pqmagic

2. ext2Fsd (see http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2008-11/17469.htm) Copies files to the ext2 (or ext3) File System in windows, because ext2 file systems are not recognizable in windows, that is, ext2 partitions are invisible in windows. Ext2Fsd can copy the corresponding files (mainly CentOS System Images) to ext2 partition by setting the display of ext2 partitions. In this document, the ext2fsdis the ext2fsd-0.51.exe installation version. It is best not to use it after decompression. If the installed system image iso is less than 4 GB, you only need to format it into the FAT32 file system. In this case, the Ext2Fsd tool is not required.

3. EasyBCD, supporting multiple Boot of multiple operating systems: EasyBCD2.1.2 (see http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2007-12/10060.htm)

Ii. centos System Installation File

Download the centos 6.5 iso file, which has the following types of iso versions:

BinDVD: A common installation version that can be used only after it is installed on a computer's hard disk. bin is usually large and contains a large number of common software. It does not need to be downloaded online during installation (in most cases ).

LiveDVD. It can also be installed on the computer, but some content may need to be downloaded again on the website (automatically ).

LiveCD: it is a simplified CentOS system than LiveDVD. Smaller size, easy to maintain and use.

Minimal: Lite version

Netinstall: Network Installation

Iii. Installation Method of LiveDVD or LiveCD centos

If you download LiveDVD or LiveCD (the iso size of the Installation File is smaller than 4 GB), congratulations, it is relatively simple to install.

1. Use pqmagic to divide a partition for installing centos. I usually divide a partition at the end of the disk.

2. Find any FAT32 partition, put the downloaded centos image file centos-xxx.iso under the partition, assume it is E: Disk

3. decompress vmlinuz and initrd in the isolinux folder of the centos image. img (if only vmlinuz0 is used, use vmlinuz0, and modify the following command) to the E: \ disk root directory, decompress the images folder to the E: \ disk root directory, that is to say, the image is in the same directory as the centos image.

4. Open the easybcd software, Add new Entry-> NeoGrub-> install-> Configure, and Add the following lines to the opened menu. lst file:

------------------------

Title CentOS

Kernel (hd0, 5)/vmlinuz

Initrd (hd0, 5)/initrd. img

Note: The above (hd0, 5) indicates an edisk. Generally, (hd0, 0) indicates a drive C, (hd0, 4) indicates a drive D, and (hd0, 5) indicates an elastic drive, and so on. For more information, click here http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2011-05/35358.htm

5. Start and restart the system, select the NeroGrub menu, and select the disk where the iso file is located. Next, the installation method is the same as that on the CD. See http://www.centoscn.com/image-text/2013/0104/145.html

Iv. How to install centos for BinDVD

If, unfortunately, you and I want to use a BinDVD version that is awesome and has a lot of software, you need to know why we cannot use the method described in section 3: The file system in FAT32 format, A single file larger than 4 GB is not supported. Therefore, you cannot copy the centos image file to a disk in the format of FAT32.

Then, you need to use the following work und: Get An ext3 File System (which is in linux), so that you can copy the centos image file larger than 4 GB.

1. Use pqmagic to divide two partitions. The first one is in ext3 format and is used to store the centos image file. The second one is in whatever format and is used to install centos, I usually divide two partitions at the end of the disk.

2. Install Ext2Fsd. Remember to check all the items in this step.

3. After installation, open it, find the ext3 partition in step 1, right click, select "configuration file system" and click "enable" and "Change and exit ". Right-click the disk, select "Configure ext3 volume properties", right-click the disk, select "disk and partition properties", and select "Change drive letter/assembly point ", select "add"

Click "load and exit" according to the configuration ".

After the configuration is complete, open my computer and you will find the Elastic Block Storage, which can be opened normally. The copy, paste, and delete operations are the same as those in windows. Note that a lost + found folder will appear on the disk at this time. Do not delete the folder.

4. Copy the downloaded centos image file centos-xxx.iso to the E: disk, decompress the vmlinuz and initrd under the isolinux folder in the centos image. img (if only vmlinuz0 is used, use vmlinuz0, and modify the following command) to the E: \ disk root directory, decompress the images folder to the E: \ disk root directory, that is to say, the image is in the same directory as the centos image.

5. Open the easybcd software, Add new Entry-> NeoGrub-> install-> Configure, and Add the following lines to the opened menu. lst file:

------------------------

Title CentOS

Kernel (hd0, 5)/vmlinuz

Initrd (hd0, 5)/initrd. img

Note: The above (hd0, 5) indicates an edisk. Generally, (hd0, 0) indicates a drive C, (hd0, 4) indicates a drive D, and (hd0, 5) indicates an elastic drive, and so on

6. Start and restart the system, select the NeroGrub menu, and select the disk where the iso file is located. Next, the installation method is the same as that on the CD. See http://www.centoscn.com/image-text/2013/0104/145.html

V. Other information

Install, start, and log on to the ECS instance and find that the network is not accessible. You need to make the following configuration changes (assuming that you are logged on with the root permission)

1. vim/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

ONBOOT = yes # whether to set this network interface when the system starts. If it is set to yes, this device is activated when the system starts. The default value is no.

2. If you are a domain account in the company, you also need to set it up: Open system-> preferences-> network connections

Click Edit and restart the network service network restart.
