Experience summary:

1. How to partition the hard disk during installation
A Windows operating system exists on my computer, and all the software used for Windows is stored on D: disk, and the system disk is C: disk. I cannot leave Windows for a moment. After all, Linux desktop applications are quite complicated. However, in many tutorials, we recommend that you have at least three partitions, one boot partition, one root directory partition, and one swap partition when installing Linux FC4. According to the structure of the hard disk partition table, a hard disk can only have four primary partitions at the end, and can be further divided into logical partitions under the primary partition. Unfortunately, my C and D disks are both primary partitions. What should I do? In fact, I only used two partitions to install Linux. One is a directory partition, the other is a swap partition, and I have not created a boot partition. Linux has been using it for a long time, this method is used when I install FC3. Similarly, Linux FC4 can certainly be used.

2. The sound card is identified, but not audible. The detection program is suspended when the system's sound card is used for detection.
Many Linux FC4 users have encountered this problem. You can see the number of questions in the Forum. This problem is solved by using the solution mentioned in "using ALSA to drive sound card process details". The article mentions sound card recognition, however, if the voice is not voiced, it may be a mute or a hardware module conflict. I happen to be a hardware module conflict. For detailed solutions, refer to the article. However, before using the solution in the article to solve hardware conflicts, I upgraded alsa-lib using the yum alsa-lib command according to the prompts of the Forum users and upgraded alsa-utils using yum. So if the solution in the article cannot be solved, upgrade alsa and try again as I did.

3. Chinese Input Method missing
When I asked questions about the sound card on the Forum, I suddenly did not respond to the input method. After logging out of the user, I found that the input method was lost, and the gnome Input Method switch could not add the input method. Then I downloaded a stable version of The fcitx input method from the http://www.fcitx.org/main/ and installed it according to the method in the Linux FC4 installation Fcitx 3.x documentation, after logging out of the user, you can use fcitx to enter Chinese characters. The fcitx Input Method of the stable version I downloaded is not the same as the package mentioned in the article. After decompression, the Install and Uninstall scripts are included. I directly ran the Install script and set it according to the article.

In addition, when fcitx is used for the first time, the text font in the input method is very large, and I will not use five or two input methods. I want to remove redundant input methods. These problems are all solved by modifying/home/user name /. fcitx/config content to solve ,. the fcitx/config file contains Chinese characters, so it is easy to configure. Do not use the following method to cancel the Configuration:
Use xxx = 0xxx to indicate the input method name. If no input method exists in the configuration file, but fcitx can be added by yourself)

4. The time displayed on the Linux FC4 installation toolbar suddenly disappeared, and the clock module was still there, but the time text information was not displayed.
This problem has not been solved .....

  1. Set VNC server in LINUX to configure service clients and servers
  2. Linux hardware and software configuration

  4. Main VPN technologies in Linux
  5. Install and compile wine in Linux
