Install fedora 9 under VMware 7.1.1

Now that I am a junior, I started the "Linux practical tutorial" course and found that Linux still has a promising future. I plan to study hard and go out and say that I am learning computer. The following describes how to install linux on a virtual machine. I use a newer version of VMware 7.1.1. If not, download http://u.115.com/file/f1ade4d8fb. linuxinstalls fedora 9, which is not the latest version, I also used this version.

 

1. Create a new virtual machine. Click new virtual machine and select the recommended typical installation. Then, click Next;

2. this step is very important. Select Iwill install the OS later. If you select the second item install disc image file (ISO), it will automatically check the system in ISO and automatically install it by default, in this way, you cannot choose to install it on your own, so you must select the correct one in this step;

3. Select Linux and fedora and click Next;

4. Define your virtual machine name and storage location. My name is fedoratest, which is stored in H:/my virtual machines/fedoratest. click Next;

5. Save the default settings and click Next;

6. Click Finish. The configuration information is displayed;

 

7. Select CD/DVD (IDE) double-click, then select use ISO image file, browse select System H:/tddownload/Fedora-9-i386-DVD.iso (files on my computer), click OK;

8. Select power on this virtual machine to start the virtual machine;

 

9. Select the OS installation option. The first option is to install the graphical interface. The second option is to install the command line interface only. We can install the first graphical interface for beginners;

10. The following is the disk check interface. Because it is a virtual machine, we skip this check. Select skip and click Enter;

11. Click Next To Go To The language display page. Select Simplified Chinese and click Next;

12. Keep the default option, that is, the American English keyboard. Click next and the prompt "Do You Want To initialize this drive and delete all data?" is displayed ?", Click Yes to go to the next page, retain the default value, and click Next. Select the time zone in the next page to keep the default value in Shanghai. Click Next. Set the root user password and enter your password on the next page, click Next to keep the default option, that is, "delete Linux partitions on the selected drive and create the default partition structure". Click Next to indicate whether to delete or format partitions, click "Write changes to disk ";

13. Since most of the learning about Linux is used for research, you can select office, software development, and network servers. click Next;

14. The system will automatically install the software. After the installation is complete, you can use Linux. A total of 1166 software packages need to be installed and will wait for a while.
