Linux RedHat installation 1 tutorial objective and requirements
Purpose:
Master Linux installation.
Requirements:
1. Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on a virtual machine or physical machine.
2. Add the installation process with a text description.

Ii. experiment environment
In the professional computer lab, the hardware configuration of the students' computers should be able to install and run the following software quickly:
Windows 2003/windows, xp, VMware Workstation;

Iii. experiment content
Before installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, install the Virtual Machine VMware Workstation, create a new virtual machine, import the ISO file of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, and start installation. The following describes the installation process and the image description.

1. Start the Virtual Machine


2. Go to the cd found page and select skip to directly install the system.



3. Go to the redhat installation page and select next for the next step.


4. Select the Display language of the installation process. It is recommended to select english here, because the translation may be inaccurate.

5. Select the Display language used by the system. We recommend that you select english here, because linux uses folders to differentiate directories. When the directory path contains Chinese characters, it may cause some trouble.


6. when installing redhat, the page displays whether to enter the serial number. You can directly select skip to skip this page. Because redhat is a billing system for enterprises, the serial number is required, however, we do not need to fill in the fields for learning.


7. Enter the system IP address and click edit.




8. Go to the time zone selection page. Here, we generally select the ShangHai time zone as our system time.

9. Enter the password interface when entering the system




10. Select the network support required by the system

11. Select the built-in system component interface. If you need to install any items that are not selected now, you can also manually install them using the RPM package in the YUM or ISO or CD.



12. Start automatic redhat Installation

13. The installation is successful. Restart the virtual machine.



14. Go to the proxy settings page and select exit to skip.


15. Enter the account password. The account is root and the system has the highest permissions.


Iv. Summary (experiences ):
Compared with ChinaUnix, I may not be able to even get started, but this is the first experiment in the computer network course. By installing the Linux system this time, I learned that, in the past, apart from windows, other systems can be installed on computers, and the functions are also very powerful. The open-source nature of Linux allows many people who love programming to make full use of their innovative capabilities. I will also learn how to make myself proficient in operating Linux and create my own world on Linux.
