Install Oracle Linux 6.3 under Virtual box

Oracle Linux 6.3 has been released for nearly 2 years, its features have greatly improved, enhanced KVM, file volume online RESIZING,LVM support RAID4, 5, 6, support more virtual CPUs and more memory, specifically, refer to Oracle official documentation. This document mainly describes the installation of Oracle Linux 6.3 based on Virtual Box (4.3.6).

1. Create a new virtual machine

1) Click New, create a new virtual machine, enter the name of the virtual machine and the corresponding OS type and version number

2) Determine the size of the virtual machine memory and set it as needed

3) Add a disk drive

Select VDI disk type and use dynamic assignment

Enter the size of the disk, which we set here to 60GB.

Setup is started with the CD drive ISO file as follows:

Set the network interface parameters, set here to use bridged mode

Other settings: If necessary to set whether to share the Clipboard, drag (recommended), remove floppy, set the number of CPU cores as required, whether to enable serial PORTS,AUDIO,USB, etc.

2. Install Oracle Linux 6.3

1) Click on the virtual machine you just created, click on the toolbar start, start the virtual machine to install

3) configuration hostname

Enter hostname, you can configure the network at this time, you can also install and then configure.

4) Configure the network (in the Configuration hostname window, click Configure Network)

Then click Apply, click Close to close the Network Configuration dialog box. Under Click Next.

4) Configure time zone (slightly), select Asia/shanghai

5) Configure the root account password

6) Configure the partition type, where all space is selected, before the data on the disk will be lost.

tick the reviewand modify partitioning layer, which can be adjusted in the next window as needed, using the default values here.

7) Configuring the Boot system

8) installation package type selection

Here we select Basic server/oracle Linux Server and select Customize now.

Tick the following desktop items to install the desktop-related installation package

9) Start copying the installation package

10) Restart the server

3, after the installation of the configuration

1) License Information

2) configuration update (can be ignored, subsequent reconfiguration)

Use the root user to turn off the firewall as needed
