Install Ubuntu in vmwarevm

Step 1 [file] --- [new virtual machine] step 2 The New Virtual Machine Wizard dialog box is displayed. standard: create the virtual machine according to the standard configuration. custom: configure the virtual machine as required. we recommend that you select the standard. because of the hardware configuration of the virtual machine, the virtual machine can be changed at any time after it is created. The create VM wizard dialog box appears in step 2.

Standard: create the VM according to the standard configuration.

Custom: configure the virtual machine as required.

We recommend that you select the standard. because of the hardware configuration of the virtual machine, the virtual machine can be changed at any time after it is created.

Step 3: create a virtual machine and install an operating system for the virtual machine

Install from

 1Installation disk: place the installation disk into the host's physical optical drive for installation

2Installation disk image File: use the iso image file for installation (which can be understood as a virtual disc)

3. install the operating system later: Create a bare virtual machine instead of a virtual machine.

Select to install the operating system.

Step 4: specify the OS to be installed for the VM

Note: You must select the type of the system to be installed on the VM. you cannot change the system type after the VM is selected.

Client operating system: ubuntu is a linux operating system.

Version: I want to install 64-bit ubuntu. Therefore, the Ubuntu 64bit version is used.

Step 5 name the VM

Virtual machine name: whatever you get, usually get the name that represents the meaning, here go to ubuntu 64 bit

Location: Path of the virtual machine virtual disk on the host. Note that the disk space in the path must be large enough.

Step 6 specify the size of the virtual disk

 Step 5: the remaining space of the physical disk in the specified path must be greater than the size of the virtual disk specified here. select 20 GB

  

 1. single file storage virtual disk

 2. split the virtual disk into multiple files.

 You can select either 1 or 2.

Step 7 confirm virtual machine hardware configuration

 If you still need to modify or configure the virtual machine hardware, click custom hardware. the custom hardware window is displayed. Of course, after all the hardware configurations of the virtual machineCan be modified.

The hardware customization pop-up box is not modified.

Step 8: The VM bare metal is successfully created. the newly created VM is displayed on VMware.
