Install Windows 7 and Ubuntu

Windows has been used all the time. Recently, Linux has to be used for a project. The most convenient way to run Linux on Windows is to use the vmwarevm. However, it may be that the program I run on a virtual machine consumes too much resources and often causes the virtual machine to crash, so I decided to directly install Linux. There are a lot of such tutorials on the Internet, but I still encountered a lot of problems during the installation process. I have been working on it for two days, and I finally got it done. The following is a brief summary of the content that is not covered in common online tutorials.

1. Install Windows. I plan to attach two windows disks: A C drive and a D Drive. Two Linux disks: swap and ext4. In addition, Windows automatically generates a m partition for the system to use. Because we need five partitions when installing Windows partitions, while Windows 7 can only be divided into primary partitions, but not logical partitions. The primary partition can only be divided into four partitions at most... After a long struggle for this problem, the solution was to first divide it into three primary partitions, that is, a 320 m system reserved, and a GB drive (my hard drive is GB ), the remaining disk is divided into one d disk. Continue to install windows.
2. After installation, install acronisdiskdirector10 (there are many other similar disk management tools, such as partition manager ). Use it to convert a disk D to a logical partition. After being replaced with a logical partition, You can freely divide it into Several partitions. Generally, it can be divided into GB, which is still named D for windows; 3 GB for Linux swap, and Linux for Linux. As long as the partition is created and the drive letter is allocated, it doesn't matter if the grid is not formatted. Note: Do not use the Disk Manager that comes with Windows 7. using it to create a partition will change the entire disk to a dynamic disk, and a dynamic disk will cause a lot of disk management software to be unavailable.
3. install Linux. When partitioning, note that the 3G space we split in the previous step is changed to swap, And the mount point is not selected; the remaining space is changed to "ext4 Log File System". For the mount point, enter "/".
