Install KaliLinux on Ubuntu

1. Import the Kali-Linux Source

Ubuntu and Kali-Linux are also based on Debian, and the source can be shared. Append the official origin of Kali-Linux to the/etc/apt/sources. list file of Ubuntu:

Deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib

Deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-free

Deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib

Deb-src http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-free

Do not rush to apt-get update because the official public key of Kali-Linux has not been imported. The update will cause signature verification failure. continue to the next step:

Ii. Import Public Key

1. Download

# Gpg -- keyserver subkeys.pgp.net -- recv-key 44C6513A8E4FB3D30875F758ED444FF07D8D0BF6

2. Import

# Gpg -- export -- armor 7D8D0BF6 | apt-key add-

Among them, 7D8D0BF6 is the last 8 digits of 44C6513A8E4FB3D30875F758ED444FF07D8D0BF6 in the above "Download" step.

3. Update

In this case, you can enter apt-get update in the terminal to update the system.

Iii. Test

Try to install a metasploit:

# Apt-get install metasploit

The installation will be successful without accident, and then check whether metasploit has been updated:

# Msfupdate

After that, you can enable and use it:

# Msfconsole

Note:

I use Ubuntu14.04-LTS. Compared with Kali-Linux, various program versions may be newer, and some dependent package versions of tools downloaded from Kali-Linux may be higher, for example, the newly installed metasploit:

Pay attention to the WARNING under the msfconsole command in the figure. Do you have any impact on normal use and the impact? It has not been tested yet. I will discuss it later.

In addition, it may be better to use a later version of Ubuntu, but theoretically it is not ruled out that some dependent package versions do not match.
