Install. res .????. DLL Error

Installation environment:

Windows XP SP2 English version

Visual Studio 2008 Chinese Professional Edition

Sliverlight 2 beta 2

 

The following error occurs when Microsoft Silverlight Tools Beta 2 for Visual Studio 2008 is installed.

"Install. res .????. DLL error"

 

After reading the post on the http://silverlight.net/forums/p/18404/61902.aspx online, I downloaded the English version

Install Microsoft Silverlight Tools Beta 2 for Visual Studio 2008.

An error occurs during installation:

An error has occurred:
Silverlight tools cannot be installed because one or more of the following conditions is true:

1. Visual maxcompute 2008 RTM is not installed.
2. The web authoring feature of Visual Studio is not installed.
3. a previous version of the Silverlight Runtime is installed.
4. A previous version of The Silverlight SDK is installed.
5. The Visual Studio update kb949325 is installed.
6. A previous version of Silverlight tools is installed.

To continue, please install or uninstall the appropriate products and run this installer again.

It seems that the language consistency between the operating system, vs2008, and Silverlight is normal, either in Chinese or English.

Try vs2008 in English version another day.

Search for the C: disk and registry using the keyword "Silverlight" and find that the SDK is installed,

Delete folders manually:

C: "Program Files" Microsoft Silverlight"

C: "Program Files" Microsoft sdks "Silverlight"

Manually delete the Silverlight key in the registry. Too many keys are found. If you delete all the keys, you still cannot install them.

 

Later, I uninstalled the Chinese version of vs2008, installed the English version of vs2008, and installed tools for vs2008.
