First:

Lspci-vnn | grep 14e4

The specific pci id: 14e4: 4315. 4315 is the specific model of the wireless chip used.

Then:

Download the linux driver from the broadcom website. Www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php. With the 32-bit driver and a readme. Then basically follow this readme to install the driver.

Installation: mkdir hybrid_wl
Cd hybrid_wl
Tar xzf Hybrid-portsrc-x86_32-v5.10.91.9.3.tar.gz
I entered tar xzf ../hybrid-portsrc-x86_32-v5.10.91.9.3.tar.gz here because my zip package is in the upper-level directory.
Make clean (optional) make

The following is how to remove the original driver.

Installation: modprobe lib80211
Insmod wl. ko

After installation, iwconfig can see that eth1 is the Ubuntu wireless network adapter, but tx-power is still off. For the sake of insurance, I also added two sentences # modprobe wl --- the first time I was prompted that the wl module was not available, later, I activated the broadcom sta driver in the system-management-hardware driver (which was not originally available, as if insmod wl. after ko), run this command again.

After installation, you can add wl to/etc/modules to load the module at the beginning.
/Etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.

At boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored. lpwl

This is the case above. On a wiki, I found a few words added in/etc/rc. conf, but Ubuntu does not have this file.

I thought this would work. After the installation, the upper-right corner shows that the wireless network has been disabled, and www.linuxidc.com cannot solve it. Later, I searched the Ubuntu Forum for a long time. For various reasons, I was dazzled and finally found it in a reply. Someone said they wanted fn + f2 to enable the Ubuntu wireless Nic of the notebook.

OK. In the final step, press fn + f2. or not. restart the system and press fn + f2 several times before entering the system. Then, the system is OK. Connect to the wireless network, enter the password, and click OK.

This method is very simple and not as troublesome as using ndiswrapper, while the b43 driver does not support 4315 chips. The only disadvantage is that if you need to re-compile and install the driver after updating the kernel, the steps for installing the driver are still very simple.
