Some users reflect that after installing Win8.1, the mouse and keyboard stop working, but Microsoft has not yet released a solution or related patches to solve the problem.

The problem appears to be an incompatible driver, but it turns out that even the latest version of the drive won't solve the problem.

A user at the Microsoft Community Forum said he had found a quick fix, and users who needed it could try:

First, restart the computer, go to the UEFI setting of the BIOS menu, go to Advanced mode, select the "Intel XHCI Mode" option, and turn off this mode. Save the new BIOS settings, and then restart the computer.
