Here is an interface to the Installation Designer page (some important properties are introduced). 1.1 Installation Information
1.1.1 General Information
Øproject Properties
Setup Languages: Sets the language type of the installation package, generally the default is simplified Chinese.
Øadd or Remove Programs
Display icon: Icons displayed in the list of Add or Remove Programs in the system;
Display icon Index: Icon of the image file indexing;
Disable Change button: Hides the changing buttons in the list of Add or Remove programs;
Disable Remove button: Hides the delete buttons in the list of Add or Remove programs;
Øproduct Properties
Name: Product names, display the product name throughout the installation interface;
INSTALLDIR: Default path for installation;
Østring Tables
Each installation language has a node, a string used in the installation. 1.2 Organization
1.2.1 Several basic concepts
Øfeature
Features, each feature can contain a child feature and several component, each feature appears in the feature selection interface, and once feature is selected to install the component it contains, it is installed into the system;
Øcomponent
components, each component can set the files that need to be installed, write registry information, create shortcuts, and so on;
Øsetup Type
Installation type, generally default to minimal (compression), typical (typical), custom (custom), each installation type contains a number of feature.
1.2.2 Setup Design
This interface allows you to set up features, components (components) and files (installation files), and so on.
[Setup] node's right-click menu, [New Feature] Menu new Feature, right click on Feature node, [New Feature] menu, create one feature;[new Component] Create a new Component;[associate components] menu to associate component.
1.2.3 Features
This interface can set properties for feature.
Display Name: The names displayed in the feature selection interface;
Description: A description displayed in the Feature selection interface;
Remove installation: Remote Installation, component in this property can be overridden in feature, the general default selection favor local;
Destination: Installation path;
Display: Displays the way, in the feature selection interface display in the way, the general default selection visible and collapsed;
Required: Whether to require installation, select Yes, this feature will be installed;
1.2.4 Components
This interface allows you to set component properties and manage component projects.
Destination: Installation path;
Destination Permissions: Set folder permissions (fnts partition format), click on the Right small button to enter the settings interface, in the next routine to do detailed introduction;
Component child nodes:

Point Add Installer need to install files, add files into static add and dynamic Add, static add can only add files, dynamic add may be set to add folders under the specified folder and files, I like to use dynamic add way;
Øregistry Data
Add a key value to the registry;
Øshortcuts
Add a shortcut;
øadvanced Settings
There are nine sub nodes, I have some do not know the meaning, some have not used, please advise the master:
Application Paths: unknown;
Assembly: Add Assembly, not used;
COM registration: Adding COM components, not used;
File Types: Add associated file type, not used;
Control NT Services: Controls system service, not used;
Install NT Services: Install system service, in a later routine to do detailed introduction;
Publishing: Unknown;
Device Driver: Unknown;
Other data: View Direct editor.
1.2.5 Setup Types
To manage the installation type, set the Setup Type property in the [Properies] column, and in the [Features installed in Setup type] bar, select the feature that you want to install for this installation type. 1.3 Application Data
1.3.1 Files and Folders
Manage installation folders and files;
1.3.2 Redistributables
Select the system runtime you want to install, some system runtime such as Borland BDE Not in the MSI installation package, you must use InstallScript Project installation package;
1.3.3 Mobile devies
Manage mobile devices, this feature has not been used. 1.4 System Configuration
1.4.1 Shortcuts
Add a shortcut;

Add a key value to the registry;

Add ODBC data source;
1.4.4 INI File Changes
Add or change the INI file, now the system has very little use of INI file, most of the use of XML files for system configuration;
