Internet access using ADSL route sharing (1)

To share the Internet as early as in the LAN, you must use software to set a computer as a proxy server, which is achieved through common gateway or proxy server software such as WinGate and SyGate. After Internet Connection Sharing is enabled for Windows 98 SE and later versions, you can share the Internet without using third-party software. All of the above methods use a real-time running proxy server as the host, and other computers in the LAN share the Internet through this host. With the development of technology, users can also use the ADSL modem's routing function or Broadband Router and other hardware methods to achieve shared Internet access.
Whether using the routing function of the ADSL modem or using a Broadband Router to share the Internet, their working principle is to use a built-in hardware chip to exchange data packets between the Internet and the LAN, in essence, the shared Internet Access software is solidified in the chip, and its working principle is similar to that of the proxy server. In this way, although a hardware device overhead is invested in the early stage, a dedicated proxy server is saved, and computers in the LAN can access the Internet independently at any time, it makes Internet sharing cost-effective and convenient.
Network Connection Method
First, use the ADSL modem with the routing function. All computers in the LAN must install NICs and connect to the vswitch or hub through twisted pair wires. The ADSL modem uses an Ethernet interface. Its Line port is connected to the local telephone Line. The LAN port is connected to the Ethernet port of the switch through a pair of twisted wires or the Uplink port of the switch through a direct connection. In this way, the physical connection of the device is realized, and the computer in the LAN is equivalent. Network Structure 1.

Enable ADSL Routing
In the device specification of the ADSL modem, you can view it with no routing function. If there is no routing function, you need to purchase an ADSL modem with routing function. The following uses the 268L1ADSL modem provided by Beijing Netcom as an example to describe how to enable the ADSL routing function.
1. Connect the computer, ADSL modem, and switch. The default IP address of most ADSL instances is 192.168.1.1, which can be found in the device manual. The computer and ADSL are set in the same network segment; otherwise, communication will fail. Set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.1.2 ~ The IP address between 192.168.1.254 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
2. This ADSL supports modifying its configuration through Web. Open Internet Explorer on the computer, enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, and press enter to display the user logon prompt page. 2 ).
