Java 8 feature support in Eclipse __java

I've been working on java™8 research in the Eclipse (Java development Tools (JDT) team for a long time. At the same time, they tracked all the work through our Bugzilla tools.

All Java8 bugs are prefixed with [1.8], which can be easily discovered.

Here are 589 errors that have been turned off, and our team already has about 75% bug fixes. Of course, there will still be new bugs, but no surprises, it's an impressive indicator. Java 8 Bug Introduction

Let's take a look at the first bug bug 380106 in Java8, which indicates that development for JAVA8 has started since May 21, 2012.

Since then, JDT Git repositories has recorded 2,806 submissions from a different contributor, 78 (author, not necessarily the core submitter). The number of contributors is very large. And these contributors come from different organizational structures.

Official data show that the JDT project and its subproject (CORE,DEBUG,UI) have a total of 24 authors. If we assume that all the contributors are active during this time (which cannot be true), this means that 2/3 of contributors are not members of the project team. But this number is not telling us how rich the contributors are (I will make a query about this), but telling us that the JDT project and its subprojects are doing a very good job in an open way.

2,806 submissions, of which 795 of their comments were attributed to JAVA8 developers (for example, there is a display [1.8]). The comment on "eyeballing" is very small. I want to see what I can do to improve on a query that doesn't exactly depend on a particular string. The 795 submissions were attributed to 22 contributors.

The easiest way to keep up with the pace of continuous development is to look at the discussion bugzilla above. Login Bugzilla Navigate to "email Preferences" Slide down to "email Preferences"

Add the following email address to the "watch list" jdt-apt-inbox@eclipse.org jdt-core-inbox@eclipse.org jdt-debug-inbox@eclipse.org jdt-doc-inbox@eclipse.org jdt-text-inbox@eclipse.org jdt-ui-inbox@eclipse.org

I can almost think of any standard, JDT project is active, changeable, open and transparent.
