The steps are as follows:

first, use Win32-disk-image to engrave the ISO file on the 16G u disk, the remaining space after boot is not writable (like a CD-ROM).

second, use Ghost to back up the USB flash drive, easy to use Ghost Restore USB drive to the partition

Select the Local→partition→to Image menu, eject the hard drive Selection window, and start the partition backup operation. Click the window in the white hard disk Information Bar, select the hard disk, enter the window, select the partition to operate (if there is no mouse, the keyboard can be operated: Tab key to switch, enter to confirm, the direction key to select). Select the backup stored directory path in the pop-up window and enter the backup file name, note the name of the backup file with the GHO suffix. Next, the program asks whether or not to compress the backup data and gives 3 choices: no means no compression, fast indicates a small compression scale and performs backups faster, high is compression proportional but the backup speed is rather slow. Finally, select the Yes button to start a backup of the partitioned hard disk.

third, use Diskgeius to partition the U disk

divided into three areas, are the primary partition, the first zone is formatted as FAT32, the third partition size is larger than the file you ghost back up (ghost file is 2G, I set to 3g, too small to be restored when the partition item is gray), The second area is divided by more than 600M (I divide 2.5G) to store things installed or modified in Kali live persistence. Use Ghost to restore the backed-up files to the third partition after you have finished dividing.

Iv. Modifying the USB flash drive with Bootice

Use Bootice to modify the main boot record of the USB flash drive into Grub4dos, and then extract the Grldr_menu compressed files inside the tool, two files inside the first partition root.

Five, start

Enter the BIOS settings USB flash drive, save reboot will see a boot selection screen, choose the first one. After entering the desktop, open the command line, enter GParted, and then select the disk in the top right corner of the popup window program that corresponds to your USB drive capacity. Use this program to format the second area before the Ext4 file system, while changing the partition name (Label) to persistence, and note the partition list of the second partition of the partition name, such as mine is/DEV/SDB2. Turn off GParted and enter the following command at the command line
Mkdir/mnt/usb
Mount/dev/sdb2/mnt/usb
echo "/union" >>/mnt/usb/persistence.conf
Umount/mnt/usb
Turn off the command line.
You can then leave the modified Kali Live USB drive to finish, but choose the second one in the startup selection. If you choose the first one, there will be no record of changes. At the same time I guess the second partition in addition to persistence.conf completely deleted should be equivalent to empty the changes. Of course the first partition continues to be used as a USB stick.

finished.
