Lenovo server inspection toolIt is a green software with no installation and no downtime. It can help users automatically collect logs of Lenovo server hardware and supported operating systems, archive the collected raw data packets to send the data to Lenovo technical support personnel for analysis.
This tool V1.0 supports RHEL5 (32/64 bits), RHEL6 (32/64 bits), Windows, and later 64-bit system environments. System resources required for running the program: The program runs for less than 500 MB, the running time is less than 25 minutes, the single-core CPU runs less than 5%, and the running memory is less than 200 MB.
Known issues:
The RHEL6 environment does not contain Sel_view logs (Intel does not officially support RHEL6 or later versions)
Technical support:
You can obtain the required technical support and other related information through the Lenovo Server Technical support hotline.

Usage:
Download program files of different operating system versions. The Common Program of Windows system is servercollector.exe. The RHEL environment varies with the operating system version and number of program file names.
Windows environment
Copy the program file to the operating system of the target machine. Double-click the executable program servercollector.exe (which must be run as an administrator). The program will be automatically decompressed to the current directory (win folder. After decompression, the tool runs automatically.
For the ThinkServer series server, the program will prompt to install the IPMI driver. Select 1 for installation (which has no effect on the server running. If installation is not allowed, you can choose not to install it, that is, 2. Logs collected without the IPMI driver may be missing ).
For the SystemX series servers, the installation of the IPMI driver is not prompted, but runs directly. The running process varies greatly depending on the server type and log size. Generally, ThinkServer series servers run in about 1 minute, and SystemX series servers run in about 15 minutes. Please be patient.
After the collection is complete, a message is displayed, indicating that the collected content is complete and that the path of the collected result (zip compressed file) is located (the win directory under the same path as the tool running path by default, the directory will generate a zip file named "host name"-"host number"-"year", "month", "Day", "minute", and "second ).
Please provide this file to Lenovo technical support staff.
* If an error is reported during execution, copy the running environment, screenshots, and running directory to Lenovo technical support for analysis.
* If the running server is not in the list of existing servers, the system will prompt that the server is not supported. Contact Lenovo technical support staff.
Linux environment
Copy the program file to the operating system disk of the target machine, and add executable permissions to the program file, such:
Chmod + x eascollector_el6.x64_x86_64.bin (root permission required)
Run the executable program eascollector_el6.x64_x86_64.bin, for example,./eascollector_el6.x64_x86_64.bin.
The program runs in the same Windows environment.
* The program automatically decompress the package to the/tmp/lenovotools Directory. The generated collection result is searched based on the prompts of the program running.
Note:
Program Collection content declaration:
This program only collects technical information such as Lenovo series server hardware configuration and operating system logs, and does not collect any sensitive information such as customer data.
