Lightroom how to deal with double light source white balance?

1, if the scene has two different light sources, what will happen? This article discusses how to adjust the white balance of indoor light source and outdoor light source in Lightroom. Although this example is not comprehensive, it is also useful in the case of many other mixed light sources.

Lightroom

2. This photo was taken at the studio/marty Riemer Show, and I was the guest of the program to talk about life as a freelance photographer. This is the first time I've ever entered a studio, and I want to take a picture that shows the scene. As you can see, there is a strong incandescent light in the house, and daylight from the windows of Seattle's gray sky. This picture is the original film, the camera automatically white balance results. The only thing I do here is the lens correction, because it was taken with a 10mm focal length.

The camera chooses the ISO 1000,f/3.5,1/15s, the color temperature 4450K, slightly higher than the standard color temperature range of the incandescent bulb 2700-3300k. The first task is to find the main light source (incandescent), let the color temperature close to the standard range.

Lightroom

3, I chose the 3250K. Next, I want to reduce the blue projection on the window. Here I reduce the saturation of blue to 38.

4, this can not only effectively reduce the color projection, but also does not have a large impact on the entire scene. The blue in the scene is reduced, and lowering the saturation will make the blue pale.

The problem now is that the Marty skin tones are better than those in the photo. It is not enough to simply lower the saturation of the color. My next step is to increase the saturation of the photos to +100.

Lightroom

5. The exaggerated colors show a large amount of yellow (yellow) and orange projections from incandescent bulbs. Now is the time to improve them. First I dropped the yellow saturation to-67. Then it's orange saturation, down to-21, which is the main ingredient in the incandescent light.

Lightroom

6. Finally, the overall saturation is lowered to +57, preserving the warm tone on the skin.

Lightroom

7, if the overall saturation to 0, then the picture looks lifeless, the characters like anemia.

Now, you can make some other adjustments to enrich the photo effect, but this article is only about handling two light source projection white balance problem, we only do here. The method described here is not a panacea, only suitable for the second light source is not the main source of the situation.
