Set hostname#
In fact I am also curious about why VPS needs to be set hostname. The estimate is for attractiveness, or portability. For example, before setting, hostname-v display is li-memeberxxx and so on, set up, the host name appears personalized, another change server, host name will not change-this is just my guess.
OpenSUSE setting hostname is slightly closer to the Ubuntu section in the Linode tutorial:
sudo vi/etc/hostname– creates a hostname file in which to enter the orchid, the name you write, what you love, what you write.
Hostname-f/etc/hostname– set hostname, name is/etc/hostname file content
Then look at the hostname-v result, has become orchid.
Set fqdn#
The full name of the FQDN is "fully qualified domain name," and why do you want to set it? It's a weird question again. And whatever it is.
sudo vi/etc/hosts opens the Hosts file and adds a row:
12.34.56.78 orchid.zfanw.com Orchid
The first part is your server IP address, the second part is the FQDN, the third part is the previous set of hostname.
Note that orchid.zfanw.com needs to do domain name resolution, A record is bound to the server ip– so that the external access to the host can be resolved.
Then perform hostname-f to view the FQDN value, and the output is:
Orchid.zfanw.com
Sometimes you will need to restart the Apache service, execute the following command:
sudo rcapache2 restart
Finally, of course, is to paste my promotional links. I do not remember what the advantage is, roughly you click to register from this link to use more than 3 months, I get a certain return, this is enough for me to eat 10 fast food bar.
