Since 2011 I have been home using Linux desktop, middle toss and officially used a lot of distributions. All distributions are not perfect, either feature-rich reactions are slow, or light-weight reactions are fast but less functional. It is now a list of actually used and more impressive distributions and the personal feeling of use.
Note: Some distributions have forgotten the exact version due to the long use time. All distributions in the following column are installed on my laptop for daily use, not virtual machine installation or dual system.
Fedora Gnome3
2011 The second half of the use of the UI response speed can also, I am not accustomed to the new interface operation, the interface looks fresh, very cool, but the use of the sense of efficiency is not high, stability is fair.
Linux Mint Cinnamon
Two times used, respectively installed different version, 2013 installed at the time of the latest LTS version, poor performance, notebook fan often inexplicably crazy turn, machine heat, performance is very poor, the interface is not good-looking.
Later, in 2014, a new version of LTS was installed, and the experience was greatly improved, with no previous unexplained fever, the UI was refreshing and the stability was high. What is criticized is that the reaction rate is always feeling a little slow.
Elementary OS
The UI looks good after the initial installation, but the UI looks ugly when the dock below the main interface is replaced with your favorite application. In addition, the way the interface is actually used is not very efficient, especially for my 14-inch notebook.
The following are used at the time:

Linux Deepin
Own Sogou Input method, music player is a big bright spot, these two applications are also good. I do not like the interface of this release version. After two months of actual use, we decided to switch to other distributions.

CentOS 6
Used in the second half of 2014, not suitable for use as a desktop. For example, the package is more old, but can not install Chrome browser. The UI interface is also not good.
Fedora KDE
The UI interface is awesome, with a variety of self-bringing applications and system themes consistent, ensuring a consistent overall experience. The application is rich, of course, many of them are basically not used. Another feature is the rich functionality. A fatal disadvantage is poor performance, my notebook at that time is also a good configuration, a little run a few applications incredibly card, and in almost any case, the graphical interface response speed to people feel very slow.

Linux Mint XFCE
This is the XFCE desktop that I installed manually after I installed the Cinnamon desktop. The experience is good, the reaction speed and stability as well as the UI interface are also available. functionality is less than cinnamon and KDE, but it's basically enough.
Fedora LXDE
Fedora 21 is a lightweight desktop with few features and many bugs, such as continuous replacement of the wallpaper to the app that causes the wallpaper to be set and the PCMANFM to flash back. However, the reaction rate is very fast and the resource is scarce. Now I am using this distribution version.

Usage Summary:
For desktop environment selection, if the feature-rich interface cool is your first need, and do not mind the high resource consumption and slow response, it is recommended that you use cinnamon or KDE, at the same time, if you want the application interface and system interface theme to be consistent, not the interface lag, it is recommended KDE desktop. If the interface operation of the reaction speed and resource consumption is your first consideration, do not mind the function of small and rough interface, it is recommended that you use LXDE. In addition, in all of the current desktop environments, the eclectic choice of XFCE is the best choice, with features, UI experience, and a compromise of reaction speed.
My job is the Linux environment operations, the work of the platform has been centos, so choose to use the Fedora series, if not the reason, I would prefer to choose Linux Mint or other Ubuntu-based distribution
Later in the article I will write about the use of Linux desktop distribution some of the advantages and disadvantages.
