First, Linux Deepin GNOME Shell new features Introduction

1, "Work Partition" left

The working partition of the native GNOME shell environment is displayed on the right side of the screen, and the Linux deepin GNOME Shell left the work partition. It also optimizes the mouse motion path by placing the program category left of the application. Also remove the "favorites" on the left of the original control Panel so that the user gets a more refreshing full-screen experience.

2, "Work Partition" switch

When you make a window preview (move your mouse to the upper-left corner of the screen or hold down the Windows logo key on your keyboard), support the arrow keys (←, ↑, →, ↓), and the mouse wheel to toggle the work partition.

Small eggs: Window program preview, the user can hold down the ALT key, in each Working application window preview screen in the upper left corner will appear red number, the user can press the main keyboard area corresponding number keys, you can immediately switch to the selected application window.

3, "Application"

At the same time, we also focus on a lot of detail design, such as "window" and "application" switch between the mouse in the selection ("Window" and "Application") hover over 100ms (milliseconds) to switch, so that users do not inadvertently move the mouse operation. Users do not need to click the "window" and "Application" to switch, just move the mouse to the option to enter the hover 100ms (0.1s) to automatically switch.

Under Application, in the Program classification option, use immediate display. Users simply move to the category of programs they want to view to see a list of related applications.

4, support the application to add to the desktop, the establishment of desktop shortcuts

Under Application, when you right-click on any of the application icons, a new window, add to Favorites, add to Desktop option appears. The original GNOME Shell supports only the first two. The Deepin GNOME Shell adds the Add to Desktop option, which adds a common application to the desktop and creates shortcuts.

The time display is centered in the native GNOME shell environment, the Deepin gnome shell moves it right, uses the hideusername extension we created to hide the username, displays only as a status icon, and clicks the User status icon to display user information and system settings.

6,alt+tab Application Switching

Under Linux Deepin, press the "ALT + TAB" key to quickly switch between application windows.

Support users to use the home key, end key, directional key ←↑→↓, such as fast locking applications.

Press the home key to jump to the first row of the first column application; Press the end key to jump to the last column in the last row of non-empty windows.
