From junior high began to play Linux, but has been installed more, with less ...

The general method of installing Linux is described below. (By default, Windows is installed and now you are installing dual systems for Windows and Linux)

0. Basic knowledge

The installation of Linux is a bit more complicated than the installation of Windows in general. Most people are accustomed to the disk partition and boot mode of Windows, and Linux uses a different approach than Windows, which can easily cause confusion if it is not clear enough to cause system errors. So before I install Linux, let me introduce Linux disk partitioning and boot mode.

The Linux disk partition does not have the concept of C-drive, D-Disk in Windows, it has only a single tree structure. For beginners, in fact, a single/directory on the line.

Linux is guided by the use of grub,win7 and the previous windows are used BCD,WIN8 after the default metro boot. When Linux is just fine, it will start with grub first.

1. Material preparation

Linux system Mirroring

Disc/U disk

U Disk Write tool (recommended ultraiso, linuxlive is also very convenient)

2. Before installing

About 50G of disk space to install Linux, this space does not mean the free space of the C or D disk, but the free space is divided, they will no longer belong to any one disk.

First, open Disk Management (search the Start menu or Cortana for "Disk Management" or the computer-right-manage-disk Management)

Then, select the disk from which you want to divide this 50G, on that disk right-compress the volume, compress the size =50g*1024=5120m, then click OK. (This may be the card, if the time is long can be directly shut down the window, restart the computer and try again)

You will then see a 50G size of free space on the disk.

Making the installation disk

First, the CD.

CD-ROM is simple, because the CD-ROM image recorder with Windows comes in line! Just engrave the Linux image into the disc!

Say the U disk

If you use linuxlive to make a U disk Startup disk, every step is very clear, I remind you that the third step of the installation size if not 0 is to put Linux into a U disk, so that the U disk into a Plug and Play system disk, if just want to put the system into the hard disk by USB stick, this size is set to 0 on the line. There is a fourth step to run linuxlive on Windows, and if you choose, you will install a Linux virtual machine on the USB flash drive so that it can run under Windows, and do not choose if you do not need it.

If you use UltraISO, the first step is to run UltraISO as an administrator, and to open your Linux image with UltraISO, the second step is to start-write to the hard disk image, the hard drive to choose your USB stick, the other do not have to change, and then click to write.

3. Install!

Restart your computer and insert a USB flash drive, and when the computer logo screen is displayed, press F12 (This is the shortcut for Lenovo to change the boot order, different computers) and move the CD or USB to the first in the boot order.

After entering the installation interface of the Linux system, choose to install the system to the hard disk, then face the problem of partitioning, select the previously separated 50G free partition, partition directory selection/CAN. (online partition scheme is more suitable for server use, personal desktop is not necessary)

4. After installation

At this point your computer will first Use Grub boot boot system, so if you now delete Linux directly, it will lead to both into the Linux and not go to Windows, it is very troublesome. So if you want to delete the Linux partition directly in Windows, be sure to do this step. Also, WIN8/10 's quick start relies on its metro boot, so if grub is used to boot the system, WIN8/10 boot will be as slow as Win7.

Here's how to change the grub boot back to the original Windows traditional BCD boot and WIN8/10 Metro boot.
