Linux OS crashes, how to copy data

Source: Internet
Author: User

Scenario Description:

Because of the use of root permissions, deleted a libpthread.so.* file, resulting in a lot of commands can not be used, even LS, CP and so on. No way, the operating system crashes after rebooting. There's very important data in it, so we have to copy it.

The operating system is ubuntu12.04.

Recovery process:

  1. The first thing to think about is to attach this disk to another Linux system. In this way, the system disk can be seen with fdisk-l
  2. See the content is only a/dev/sdb the entire hard disk situation, inside the partition or whatever, there is no.
  3. Of course, mount the hard drive with the mounts, and sometimes specify the file type.
  4. Mount the last look, the file system or something is in the folder, however, when the data is not available, only the folder. At the time, I was dazed.
  5. For/dev/sdb This is the entire hard drive, then the hard disk is divided into many areas. In the system area, the entire file system, and the data may be in/DEV/SDB1 or/DEV/SDB2, so that Linux by mounting the way the data is attached to the corresponding file system, the response here is that the data is attached to a folder. Data is not visible because these files are in other partitions
  6. It should be mount/dev/sdb5/mnt or other partitions. If it is not successful, you are specifying the file type
  7. After the success of the mount, go inside to see, you will find that the data in the inside
Precautions:
  1. Do not blindly partition the hard drive until the workaround is found, which can damage the data
  2. Use the CP command, do not MV or RM
  3. When using other recovery software, also pay special attention to the general use of software, under Linux is not practical
