1. "The NTP socket is on use, exiting" error appears. The reason for this is that the system NTPD server is running and can be via PS aux | grep ntpd View, if you still want to manually synchronize time, you must first stop the service, the command is:service ntpd stop or/etc/init.d/ntpd stop

2. Npdate time.windows.com or ntpdate us.pool.ntp.org will be able to synchronize time successfully.
