In Windows XP, autoexec. BAT and config. sys are not used. The two files are empty autoexec. BAT and config. sys is a text file and can be opened directly in notepad. aiuoexec. BAT was used in earlier DOS to execute batch processing commands when the system was started. config. sys was used to set up related environments on earlier dos, which contains some configuration commands.
