Lync Project Experience -05-Coexistence Migration-lync 2013-TO-SFB 2015-Edge server replication status is unhealthy

Problem:

You find that the Edge server is not replicating correctly in Lync Server 2013 coexistence migration environment with Skype for Business Server 2015:

2. On the Lync Server 2013 front-end server Ping the Skype for Business Server 2015 Edge Server internal NIC, external network adapter.

3. Conclusion

A. The Lync Server 2013 front-end server pings the Skype for Business Server 2015 Edge Server Internal network card ping does not pass.

Reason:

Because the Lync Server 2013 frontend IP is 192.168.1.17,skype for business Server 2015 Internal network card 192.168.36.21 no gateway, they are different network segments, normal different network segments to communicate, need to go their own gateway, can communicate. So the ping does not pass.

B. Ping the external NIC for the Lync Server 2013 front-end server by pinging the Skype for Business Server 2015 Edge server.

Reason:

Because the Lync Server 2013 frontend IP is 192.168.1.17,skype for business Server 2015 external network card 192.168.36.22 has a gateway, they are different network segments, normal different network segments to communicate, need to go their own gateway, can communicate. So I can ping the pass.

C. Ping the Internal network card for the Skype for Business Server 2015 Edge Server by pinging the Lync Server 2013 front-end server. The following actions are required:

Because a server can not have the internal and external gateway at the same time, so, only for the network to 192.168.1.x write static routes, out of the internal network card, external network card only responsible for communication to the Internet.

The final method:

1. Questions

Lync Server 2013 front-end server: 192.168.1.17.

Skype for Business Server 2015 front-end server: 192.168.36.14.

Skype for Business Server 2015 Edge Server: 192.168.36.21 (internal) 192.168.36.22 (external).

Edge Server intranet network card with network segment, internal no gateway, external gateway, are 192.168.36.524.

The Lync Server 2013 front-end server cannot ping 192.168.36.21.

SFB Edge Server replication status is not working:

2. Do not set the gateway for both the SFB 2015 internal and external NIC.

3.192.168.36.14 the remote edge server through the SFB 2015 front-end server 192.168.36.21

4. Add 2 static Routes

Route Add 192.168.36.0 Mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.36.254-p

Route Add 192.168.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.36.254-p
