Java 2014-001 for OS X improves the installation process and replaces "Java for OS X" for all previous version numbers.

This package installs Java 6. It is the same as the version number in Java 2013-005 for OS x.

On a system that does not already have Java 2012-006 for OS X or a later version number installed. This update disables the Java SE 6 applet plug-in.

To use applets on a Web page, click the Java applet plugin that downloads the latest version number from Oracle in the place labeled "Missing plugins".

Please exit any Java application first. Then install this update.
