After creation, or during use, you often encounter an error--the Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available:

In general, there are two reasons why this error can occur:

The first reason may be Service not up. Go to services to start the appropriate service:

A second reason may be IIS in the Application Pool not up:

Normally these two places can be solved after they are started.
