Meego version 1.1 release has been around for nearly a week. Because it has been busy recently, I have to work overtime every day and have no time to feel it. Today I finally downloaded it and tried it using USB boot. No way. The company's own book cannot be loaded by itself, and its own book cannot be started normally.
It took about an hour and a half to download the image. I tried to download it directly yesterday and found it was too slow, with a speed of dozens of K. Today, we installed the latest version of thunder 7, with different speeds. We downloaded the image this evening.
Installation Method:
In Windows, a blank USB flash drive is prepared (because meego will reformat and overwrite the entire USB flash drive, so the disk must be empty ). Download win32diskimager.exe and open it. Select the image file and the drive letter of the USB flash drive, and click "write". The write will take about 3-5 minutes. Turn the computer into a USB Boot Mode (ThinkPad always press F12 to display the boot list), meego 1.1 is loaded successfully.
After the startup of the system, there was no change on the surface, but what impressed me most was that the speed was super fast, switching between interfaces, and application switches, the Internet speed and other performance are very good. Of course, the UI and user experience have also been greatly improved, and the transition effect is good.
Of course, there are a lot of problems in the current version, such as there is no sound when playing streaming media files at the beginning, you need to manually tune it. When you close a browser page, all the pages will be closed. But after all, we still see a lot of progress.
In addition, there are few applications currently, and the applications that come with this version are also very simple. We also need to work together to develop the application of the meego platform.
