BEA unveiled its Infrastructure software optimization plan on 19th to cater to the service-oriented Architecture (SOA) adopted by enterprise customers.
The company's three main product lines-aqualogic, WebLogic and tuxedo-will eventually use the same software base, called "MicroServices architecture".
The Service Oriented architecture is the architecture of the application software as a set of internally connected components or services. SOA is designed to allow people to reuse services, accelerate application development, and reduce costs.
Bea's software is typically used to build and execute guest application software, such as enterprise portals and Web sites. The company says MicroServices architecture will offer low-end services to a number of applications and will conform to Web services and Java standards. This service includes fetching information from the database. It is planned to convert all products to MicroServices architecture before 2008. The software can also be implanted in other software vendors ' application software.
