Microsoft Azure starts to support Docker technology

Docker Machine:azure customers can automate the creation of Docker hosts and manage them using the Docker machine client.

Docker Swarm: Developers can choose their infrastructure, including azure virtual machines, and scale them as needed.

Docker is an open source engine that can automatically apply deployment. It uses containers to replace virtual machines, enabling multiple applications to run concurrently on the same server. In addition to Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Rackspace and Linux vendors canonical and red Hat are committed to supporting Docker.

Since June 2014, Microsoft has allowed users to run Docker on Linux on Azure. Microsoft will also add support for Docker containers to Windows Server 2016, which will be launched next year. Earlier this year, Microsoft provided the first Docker image for Ubuntu Linux on Azure.
