Microsoft will keep reminding old IE users from March 13, next January: upgrading IE 11 quickly
Microsoft will suspend support for earlier IE browsers except for IE 11 from January 1, January 12, 2016. The goal is to encourage everyone to upgrade to Windows 10 and Edge browsers quickly, at least to IE 11, to improve security and reduce the maintenance difficulty. Of course, this kind of encouragement will not be useful. If you don't want to upgrade, it will still not, so Microsoft is ready to do some tricks.
Microsoft quietly published a knowledge base announcement numbered KB3123303, titled"Notification of end of life update for IE browser"(The new" End of Life "upgrade notification for Internet Explorer ).
According to announcements,Microsoft will push a cumulative IE Security patch to Windows 7 SP and Windows Server January 12, 2016 R2 SP1 users on October 13, 2008. In addition to fixing vulnerabilities, if your browser is IE8, IE9, or IE10, this patch will remind you to upgrade to IE 11.
