Microsoft will post Windows 2003 64-bit_windows2003 on HEC

Following the successful release of Windows XP Professional 64-bit and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 into the hands of the manufacturer, Microsoft announced the upcoming annual Windows HEC, to be held next month (hardware Engineering Conference, the Hardware Engineer assembly, publishes the long-awaited version of Windows Server 2003 64-bit.

Microsoft's 64-bit system released this time is different from previous releases. The Windows Server 2003 64-bit version supports both 32-bit and 64-bit programs, specifically enhancing the performance of your database application software. This allows more users to continue to use the existing 32-bit programs and to gain 64-bit computing performance on the same platform.

"The 64-bit system has entered its final release phase," said Andy Lees, Microsoft's vice director of server and tools business. The company is ensuring that all ISVs (independent software developers) are contacted and will jointly publish a series of 64-bit versions of the application. In fact, even a 32-bit program, the system can provide complete compatibility and maximize their cost performance.

Lees adds that Windows Server 2003 64-bit supports the coming Intel dual core technology. This joint technology will enable windows to gain performance equivalent to UNIX systems. 64-bit and dual-core technology is like a turbo engine or supercharger inside windows, making Windows Server a powerful data-processing center.

In addition, Microsoft published a Windows Server x64 candidate in February, which was scheduled for release in 2004. Microsoft has planned to release a 64-bit version of a series of next-generation applications, including SQL Server 2005,windows Longhorn client,exchange Server 12,commerce server 2006,host Integration Server 2006,microsoft Operations Manager and Virtual Server 2006.
