Microsoft's next Generation Windows 7 version Quiz

Winsupersite.com's Paul Thurrott produced a FAQ about Windows "7", which focused on some of the problems with this Microsoft's next-generation Windows major version.

Q: Is Microsoft still developing a new operating system after Vista?

A: Yes, the first version of Windows is "Blackcomb" (black Comb), then renamed "Vienna" (Vienna) in early 2006, and recently changed to "Windows 7".

Q: Why is it called Windows 7?

A:windows Vista is 6.0, of course, and Windows 7 means version 7.0.

Q:windows 7 is the final name?

A: No. Like Vienna, Windows 7 is just a code name that will be changed to official names before the OS is officially released.

Q: I hear Vista is the last major OS version of Microsoft, is it true?

A: No. The Windows PC will also continue to form the center of our digital lifestyle. According to Microsoft's top executives recently, Windows still has a lot to improve on, such as speech recognition and storage.

Q: So is Windows 7 a major version of Windows?

A: Yes. Windows Vista is a major version, and Windows 7 will also be an important upgrade. There may also be a tiny OS upgrade between Vista and Windows 7.

When will q:windows 7 be launched?

A: Microsoft is currently planning to launch Windows 7 in 2010, or 4 years after Vista was launched. (Windows server also takes a similar update cycle)

What features will q:windows 7 contain?

A: Microsoft has not commented publicly on any features of Windows 7, and the company is also discussing what the next generation of Windows will look like. We currently only know the following information:

-The new Resource Explorer will be taken over by the Ribbon user interface design team in office 2007;

-will include some form of "Hypervisor" (Windows Virtualization) technology, which will be available shortly after the launch of Windows Server 2008;

-may have built-in WinFS (Windows Future Storage) technology, but may not use the name WinFS;

-Microsoft also said it would launch a subscription-based OS version for consumers, but it was not yet sure of the news.

Q: Is that all?

A: Remember that it's early days and Microsoft is tight-lipped about future windows. But Microsoft has publicly disclosed some information about the many features contained in Windows 7, from a public Microsoft slide.

Q:windows 7 also launches 32-bit and 64-bit two versions like Vista?

A: I also want Windows 7 to launch only 64, but Microsoft says the final version will have 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Q: Will Microsoft also launch a Windows upgrade before Windows 7?

A: it will. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1 Code "Fiji") will be released early next year with Windows Server 2008 and will contain the latest kernel version of Longhorn. Fiji will certainly include a revised version of the Media Center software in Vista, and for these reasons, we can Fiji as a major version of the service pack. Of course, Windows did not have any service packs that included major kernel upgrades.
