Mifare is a series of RF cards produced by NXP that comply with ISO14443A standards, including Mifare S50, Mifare S70, Mifare UltraLight, Mifare Pro, Mifare desfire, etc. Due to the great influence of Mifare, the industry sometimes to other companies to comply with the ISO14443A standard RF card is also known as "Mifare", especially Mifare S50 card, is almost the spokesperson of the ISO14443A standard. The core of the MIFARE smart card is the Philips Micro-module (microchip), whose communication layer (MIFARE RF interface) complies with parts 2nd and 3rd of the ISO/IEC 14443A standard. Its security layer supports CRYPTO1 data stream encryption for domain validation. Commonly used are S50,S70.

Mifare S50 's capacity is 1K bytes, often referred to as Mifare Standard, also known as Mifare 1, is the most widely used and most influential member of the card to comply with the iso14443a standards. The S50 card type (ATQA) is 0004H. The capacity of the Mifare S70 is 4K bytes. The card type (ATQA), often referred to as Mifare CLASSIC,S70, is 0002H.

These cards have a globally unique serial number that can be 4 bytes, 7 bytes, or 10 bytes in length. When multiple cards enter the RF field of the reader, the card adheres to the bit-oriented anti-collision mechanism , and the card is selected by the reader to operate the unique card. After the reader has finished working on a card, it can send a hibernate command to put the card into hibernation while the card reader continues to operate on the other cards.
