The third milestone is MySQL5.5M3. the third milestone version of MySQL 5.5 is released. The biggest change to this version is to increase the performance metadata database. the database name is performance_schema and the storage engine used is PERFORMANCE_SCHEMA, this database records some data related to the database performance. For more information about performance_schema, see Chapter 20, MySQL Performance Schema.

In addition, this database is not enabled by default. you must specify-- Performance_schemaParameters.
