MOSS learning experience (1) Configure MOSS from start to end

Configure MOSS according to instructor fatbird.
My machine environment is a computer with Active Directory and SQL2005 installed.
The following describes the procedure:
1. First install MOSS, select Advanced installation, and select "complete" to install all MOSS components.

2. Go to the configuration center. Because I have created a new MOSS, I chose "Create a new server farm ". Enter the database address, database user, and password. Here, a special mosssql user is used as the user who manages SQL on the domain. Then you will be asked to set the port number of the Management Center. I also use 10000 for the sake of operations. The validators select "NTLM". Complete the configuration.

3. After the configuration in the Management Center is complete, you can go in and start configuring wel application.
First, we need to enable the MOSS service. By default, all of its services are disabled. First, I started "Excel calculation services", which is the Excel services engine. When I use it, I can open the work book and calculate it.
Then start the office sharepoint service, which is used to crawl the network. I checked the query and index selected by the service. On the server search account, I used the moss_search account that I created. It is a bit like when I created the SQL above, mainly to facilitate management. After the configuration, the service starts.
Next, we start windows Kernel poin services. the setting method is a bit like office sharepoint service. The only difference is that you need to set a search database. To ensure the naming conventions, the default names given by the system are messy. So I set it to Wss_search_moss2007. Windows sharepoint services is also started.
The remaining items are easy to start, so I will not introduce them too much.
4. After all services are started, we will start to create our web application. First, we will create an application with port 8000, after the IIS is created, Run "iisreset/noforce" to restart IIS. This application should be mainly created for ssp ,.
5. Create a personal website Web application, same as above, but the port number is 9000, and the user name is moss_app_90. This application is mainly used to build a website.
6. Establish SSP and establish SSP to provide many services for MOSS. After the establishment, we also need to set the crawler. Let's click the established SSP, select search setting, and enter the content personnel and crawler settings. Create a crawling plan and start it.
7. Set Outgoing e-mail settings and income in operations.
8. Create an application with port 80 and the user name mossapp80. this application is used to prepare the website set.
9. Create a website set on 80. Select the collaboration portal and the first administrator. The settings are complete.
