Ii. OS upgrade
Before the upgrade, it is best to back up the old OS image.
1. Create a TFTP server. The address of the TFTP server and the firewall must be in the same network segment and can access each other. Assume that the trusted IP address of the firewall is 192.168.1.1 and the IP address of the TFTP server is 192.168.1.100. Then, place the new netscreen OS on the TFTP server.
2. Back up the old OS Image
Run the following command:
Ns5xp-> save software from flash to tftp 192.168.1.100 ns5xp. 4.0.0r6.0
Ns5xp. 4.0.0r6.0 is the name of the file to be saved.
3. Refresh the OS image to the firewall
You can use the web interface or CLI to refresh the OS. The web page is very simple and will not be described here.
Command:
Save software from tftp 192.168.1.100 ns5xp. 5.0.0r9.0 to flash
Ns5xp. 5.0.0r9.0 is the file name of the new OS image to be refreshed. A large string of symbols is displayed after the command is executed, and information such as whether the file downloaded from tftp is successful is displayed:
