What's the problem? My Homepage cannot be accessed ?! Alas, the free space was suspended again.

Where can I find a home for our website? This is a problem faced by many webmasters. Free Space is almost no longer available now. If you are willing to pay for it, how can you find a server with both free and large space?

With the popularization of broadband networks, especially the increase in monthly subscription broadband users, our personal computers have basically met the conditions for becoming a server. Therefore, readers who have installed Monthly broadband network can use their own computers to act as servers! In this way, not only does the webpage have a large space, but also has a wide range of management permissions (after all, it is your own computer ).

However, to turn a PC into a server, we are faced with a problem: As we all know, all websites require a fixed address so that others can access it at any time. China Telecom and other access service providers will not provide fixed IP addresses for individual users. Each time we access the Internet, the IP addresses are dynamically allocated by the access service provider.

How can we solve this thorny problem? You can use the peanut shell software! This software provides us with a client program. If we run this client program, the current dynamic IP address of our computer will be sent to the dynamic domain name resolution server for instant resolution, and bind the current IP address with the domain name we have applied. In this way, you can always use a fixed domain name to access the website we store on your computer.

Set Server

After all, personal computers are personal-oriented and do not have the server requirements by default, but we only need to simply set them up. Windows 2000 and Windows XP provide "Internet Information Service (IIS)". We can change the personal computer to Wed or FTP server by installing it.

1. Install IIS

Open "delete/Add programs" in the control panel, select "Add/delete Windows components", and select "Internet Information Service (IIS)" in the displayed Windows component wizard window )", click "details" and select "Internet Information Service Management Unit", "public file", "World Wide Web service", and "document" Options (1, insert a system installation disk for installation.

2. Set the Wed Server

After installing IIS, you also need to make some simple settings. Open "Administrative Tools> Internet Information Service" in the control panel, open "Local Computer> website> default website" on the left side of the window, right-click the default website, and select Properties, open the "default website properties" window. ".

TIPS: If you want to create an FTP server, you can use Internet Information Service (IIS. In addition, the 16-17 Journal of this year published an article about using the Software Serv-U to set up FTP servers. You can refer to this article. If your system is Windows 9x, use PWS (built-in Web/FTP Server) to create a server.

Apply for registration

Because the peanut shell software has been acquired by Guangzhou Domain Technology Company, before using this software, we need to apply for and activate it on the Domain Technology website.

1. apply for a passport

All services here must have a "Domain passport. Go to the domain technology home page http://www.oray.net, click the "I want to register domain passport" link on the left side of the page (3), enter the domain passport Registration Wizard Page, follow the Wizard to complete registration and fill in personal details.

2. Register a domain name

After registration, the "My console" page is displayed. Next we will apply for a bound domain name for our personal server. Then we can use this domain name to access the website. The domain provides us with two types of domain names: top-level domain names and free Domain Names. First, we apply for a free trial. Click "I want to register domain name records" on the left and select "free Domain Name". There are two domain name suffixes for you to choose from. In the input box, enter the desired domain name and click "Submit ".

3. Activate the peanut shell Service

After the domain name is successfully registered, it cannot be used immediately. It must be activated. Go back to the "My console" page, click "I want to activate the peanut shell service", and select the domain name to be activated as prompted, then fill in some basic information that the domain name points to the site.

TIPS: if your computer is only starting for some time, you can set it in "online time preset" when entering the site information. If you want to set up another server, you can also set it in "you plan to build the site.

Install peanut shells

The server and domain name are ready. The last task is to install the peanut shell client.

1. Download and install

First download the latest peanut shell software from http://www.oray.net/and install it later. The installation process is the same as that of other software. One step is to allow you to enter the user name and password. Here, you can enter the passport name and password of the domain you applied, you can also enter it later when using the software.

2. Start peanut shells

Open the software. If the passport name and password are not entered during installation, you can enter them in the software "status" tab. If your computer is online at this time, the server connection status will be displayed as "online" (4), and the peanut shell icon on the taskbar will be displayed in color.

Click "File> refresh" to re-read the client data. The "Domain Name" tab displays the current status of the domain name you applied, and lists the domain names pointing to the Local Machine (5 ).

Here, you can access your website anytime and anywhere using the domain name you apply for. Of course, the premise is that your computer must be on ^_^.

Note: If you use a LAN to share the Internet, the use of domain names will not be able to access the personal server, because the peanut shell software does not support Intranet access to users. We need to use the port ing method for access, just open the window 2 in the host computer, select the option "content source when connecting to resources" as "share on another computer", and specify your computer and website storage directory in the LAN below
